i heard the new peavey`s are bogner designs? rheinhold knows the value of a dollar.

I think that if Peavey could find a good amp designer that they would be in good shape. Having Bogner design an amp for them would be a good deal. I think that has been Peavey's biggest problem. Thay can build good products, but haven't really had any designs that really stood out since the Classic series, IMHO.

Sounds very much like my old XXX when I had it biased and put EL34s in it. I thought that was a great sounding amp....miss it actually. Peavey makes such bang-for-the-buck amps....such a cool company. With the XXX and JSX I think they've really got their own voicing too....it's about where the mids are placed IMO.

Isn't the Classic series pre-5150? It's a bit of a love/hate type amp, but I'd say the 5150 not only caught on in a big way, but really, it's a pretty good amp for the money too.

that might be in the neighborhood of being somewhat correct were it not for all the models James Brown designed that fill the pages of this forum

ie nothing in that post is remotely correct, moreso because Peavey doesn't seem to be having any problems, and are in good shape

nope, I don't work for em

I want to hear the clean. Visually, way nicer than the Triple XXX

intriguing. very intriguing.

I kind of wish it wasn't 120 watts (or was switchable), but it seems to do nicely at reasonable levels.

I dig it. And it's supposed to be cheap.

Is this what the XXX sounds like?

sorta xxx-ish,...i believe that the 3120 is the xxx's replacement,..

So they really did discontinue the Triple XXX? If so,

And what the hell are those glowing amps off to the right? lol
Those are the 2009 6505's

Those 6505's with the blue LED's are Peavey Custom Shop jobs, NOT production models at all.

That XXX I had never sounded that good......nice..

The XXX's Ive heard didnt either... not by a long shot.

Also I have to say this video impressed me more than any video from NAMM this year. Close second was the Bogner Glodfinger and the Suhr armadilo, or muskrat or whatever it was. :D

active tone controls make the xxx incredibley easy to dial in realy bad sounds with,..next time you see one..try it out,..judge for yourself.
