jump to 5:00 and then wonder where he hides his antenae, dragonfly wings, and tentacles....that alien!
hopefully there will be some digidesign 11s to demo at NAMM. rumor has it that they may be inserting a 12ax7 into the upgraded box...the very same thing i was ranting about wanting to hear in fractal land clips prior to owning the axe, and still feeling like it may benefit from, although i know the concept push is away from tubes.
in my mind a tube input section could be driven harder and be more musical and benefit from that fleshy tube feel.
im gonna experiment more this week with my valvulator and dbx 376 tube pre/comp to see if i can get more of that to happen in my axe.
i just listened to some SRV, EJ, and Landau cranked and nothing i've found in the axe can yet reproduce the clear blooming ping and warm rebound of tubes and the sound of a well worn speaker concussing in a resonant cab.
i think holdsworth's mesa recto years and more recently his all yamaha digital rig sounded better than this video's tone though. this clip seems like his attack is digital mushy or something compared to the cymbal high end, although it's also cam-mic-itis.
