This is the template that Lolzgreg made me while he was teaching me how to use Cbase4 and his way of micing a cab, very short as we were pressed for time as Mrs Digi Jams was on her way home with the little one and I had to feed Greg. Way better having someone show you than reading and his micing examples were very cool. Thank you Greg!

Anyways we were looking for more upper mid grind and no buzz, think Greg nailed it.

Greg's throughneck with SD Custom, cable, Natas, Diezel NYC h30, sm57.

Gain around 1:00, lots of grind and presence for presence whore Greg.

All of this!

That clip sounds like it would fit PERFECT in a mix. Plenty of room for bass and drums!

Thanks for the kind words, and mind the sloppy playing guys. I was just trying to teach Scott how to mic a cabinet, and then he goes and posting my messy takes

The amp sounds ridiculous. I can't wait to have mine here at the studio to get you guys some real clips.

Also, this was recorded while listening on KRK mini monitors in an untreated room with a $200 dollar audio interface and with a SM57. Anyone who tells you you need thousands of dollars of gear to create professional sounding guitar tones is crazy. It's about the player and the engineer, and all the expensive mic preamps and converters are what take you that final 10% of the way.

We were pressed for time, was never meant to be put on the forums but after waking up this morning and listening I was like hell yeah this is going out

Not that I have a better grasp of recording longer clips are coming.

THAT is what Greg and I were working for, he asked for me to dial in something ane I wanted old school thrash grind with a modern twist from the amp and make it slice through the mix like a mother.

Thanks!

  The hardest thing for any engineer to do is walk into a room they've never worked in, with no point of a reference, and bring the goods. I wish I knew you'd post it so I could play better :gethim: ;)

The BFD part is a win! I didn't have the patience to try to troubleshoot it after getting 3 hours sleep the previous night. If you didn't catch it, my left eye was drooping toward slumber until after pizza time

I'm really surprised your kids picked chicken over pizza. Hell, I had pizza again today for dinner
