The other day I remembered seeing this cab at a local shop for a reasonable price. I've been wanting a 2x12 for a long time since all I have is 4x12's, and even at "low" volumes a lot of the time they're just louder than Id like. I hopped on my motorcycle and headed back to the shop. I got to jam on it for a bit and thought it sounded really good, especially the bottom end, which is surprising for an open back cabinet in my experience. I got to a/b it next to one of the 5153 2x12's. The DV cab is more articulate with more mids/highs, the 5153 sounded more muddy/boomy. I'm sure most of that can be dialed out via amp controls, but I didn't want to be there all day.

I bought the cab, and as mentioned above was on my motorcycle. I did somewhat plan ahead by adding ratchet straps inside my back pack just in case I wanted to buy the cab. My pack is made by eagle, so it's an extremely well made pack. This 2x12 is about 25lbs! I strapped it to my back pack and rode home without incident.

Plugged all of my heads into it to give it a once over and they all sounded really good. Most impressed by how the Orange micro terror sounded through this cab. It has bottom end! When I plug the Orange into either of my 4x12's it doesn't sound nearly as good, and really only has mids/highs. In either case plenty loud to play a small venue, or with a band, and at 300w Rms it can handle just about any amp out there.

My favorite part is the portability and light weight with full sound.

Here's a quick video with some heavy sounds with this setup. Too lazy to hook up my Presonus and get my mics out etc, so this is just an iPad recording, doesn't sound amazing, but gives a general idea of how this setup sounds.

My super portable rig, Orange micro terror head, Ibanez ts7 pedal, DV Mark 212, Hohner G2T. Plenty loud to play a small venue, or jam with a band.

Awesome cab!! I have always wanted to try one of those, I am a fan of light weight gear that sounds good ever since I bought a Mark IV combo with an EVM-12L, and the amp only had one handle  That made no sense to me. But I am in Canada, and no one sells DV Mark here.

Those evm12l weigh like 18lbs each, definitely lighter than traditional speakers. I hear they're an awesome speaker for sure. The guy I bought my DAR cab from had a cab with 4 of the Evms in it, and said it sounded great. I'll have to weigh these speakers, they have to be under 10lbs each

If the cab is anywhere near the quality of the amps, I am jealous. I have a DV Mark Triple 6 that is just freaking amazing.

I haven't played on a DV Mark amp, so I can't say for sure, but this super light 2x12 sure does bring the thunder, especially if you consider its well under 30lbs!

Pics of the back added. Crazy how small the magnets are, and they have a hole right down the middle that you can see all the way through
