picked this cab up yesterday in a trade. I already have a very similar Diezel that's loaded with uk vintage 30's, but this trade was so far in my favor I just couldn't pass it up, as I'm into the cab for $400 after all is said and done.

I didn't realize some of these Diezel cabs came with eminence speakers at some point. I'm not sure how it sounds as I haven't had a chance to fire it up yet, but I'm expecting to hate the Eminence OEM speakers. I've never met an OEM eminence speaker I've liked, and I'm everything I have read seems to say that they're not well received.

Thinking of loading it with 4 H30 Anniversary speakers since I have a bunch of them floating around that I've removed from the evh 212 cabs I somehow seem to be piling up. haha.

I'll report back after I jam it some, but good score none the less.

are you building a wall of cabinets? LOL

Very nice Kyle.. Looks very well built cab. You still using the WGS Veteran 30 speakers?

Very nice! I also think that the EVH speakers will sound good in there.

Currently running two 4x12's. A 1960A with Greenbacks and a stock EVH EL34 Stealth cab. I prefer the GB's for the more vintage type of high gain tones and the EVH cab for the more modern thing.

That's one of the original USA built cabs. I had one like that. I think it was built by Marvick (or Maverick?) Enclosures. They used to build Bogner cabs as well, so it's probably similar to that. The Diezel Custom Eminence speakers are complete ass though. Put some v30s or v30/K100. Or better yet, Redback/v30.

I honestly haven't played them much at all. I'm constantly thinking about what speakers to put in what cab....to the point that it's paralyzing and I never do it. Haha. I believe I'm going to throw the 4 Vet 30 speakers into my front Loaded Peavey 412ms cab soon though.

how do you find the EVH greenies compare to the newer production M25? Better for the more modern tones, but in what way? Tighter, more aggressive?

Yeah they will come out regardless. Not sure what I want to do with speakers just yet. As mentioned above, I have tons to choose from but always seem to struggle coming to a conclusion on what to use.

I did just order a KSR 412 cab with Redback/H75 combo. Really curious to see how that will sound!

when I get some extra money I'll be taking a roadtrip to get some of your shit bud. get prepared....lol...

When I emailed WGS about recommendations for mix with Veteran 30 or Retro 30, they recommended the ET65.

I got the Retro 30 in my 212 Splawn cab and I am really liking how they're sounding.

If you decide to sell 2 of the Veteran 30, reach out to me. I may be interested.

Thanks

Plugged into the cab today, and just as I'd figured, I fucking hate the Eminence, haha

Very dull, signature hollow eminence midrange. I don't understand why anyone would use these, but hey, I've heard many a terrible tone in my day with people who were somehow still stoked on it, so there is that.

Definitely need to change out ASAP with something better. As stated previously, will probably start with a quad of H30 and go from there

weird. never had a bad experience with eminence. Limited to 15" legends, man-o-wars's, and ms-12's. fuckin ms-12's kill bro....had a set in a metal grill mesa halfback..gatdam it ripped.

I'd be curious to hear a shootout of the Diezel vs KSR when you get it. Kyle's cabs are absolutely top notch.

Every OEM eminence speaker I've tried has been real bad, IMO. This does not apply to their aftermarket stuff like the red coat series, etc. Strictly "made for X company" speakers with no labels
