Just picked this bad boy up today. Pretty damn good cab!!!

I spoke to Scott for a few hours in his shop and this was one of the topics that came up. The earlier models have corner covers because they had a different tolex guy and didnt trust the method of the corners without them. He either hired, found, and/or trained a new guy to do the cabinet tolex and ever since then chose to display the crisp corners that were then being made rather than cover them over with protectors.

I have the duratex coating and would still prefer to have corner protectors simply because of dents or banging against walls to prevent color or scuff transferring. I've been meaning to find some peavey metal corner protectors and hope that they will fit.

My Small Block loaded Splawn cab is the best I've ever heard. I'm very tempted to get another with a similar speaker configuration to your V30/G12H set up. I bet that sounds very 3D.

Nice. Scott Splawn makes some nice stuff. I used to have 2 Splawn 4x12 along with my Quick Rod, none of which I needed for bedroom playing, but they were cheap and SPLAWN!

I love it. I cannot tell a single bit of tonal masking, and the cabinets are FAR from dark. Neutral tonality and very very tough.

I will say that there is a terrible curing/smell stage that wasn't exactly mentioned. It took about 2 weeks for both cabinets to cure properly - even after speaker playing.

Can't say I feel the need to go back to tolex. I can throw these around without worrying about tolex tears, scuffs, dings, etc. And should any of it need repair, you just recoat that piece

Thanks!!! What is great about the KK++ is you can tailor it to pretty much any type of speaker/cab. Plus the KK++ was designed around V30s so the V30/G12H30 70th Anny's sound great.

The Atomica is a killer amp!!! I have not tried the Atomica with it. I might just do that tomorrow.
