NCsD Moon cabinetry 2x12 thiele cabinets

WTF? Is that 2 1x12 Thiele cabs in one enclosure? Why not just build the 2x12 Thiele schematic?
 
Huh I would swear there was a 2x12 version for the EVM-12L with the vent in the middle, but damned if I can find the schematic for it now lol

EDIT: I think I was thinking of the TL806D, but I think that's an actual horn driver between the EVM-12Ls

i'm also having trouble finding a theile 2x12 schematic, it'd be a tl5050 cabinet, anything more than general dimensions (last pic), is giving me trouble

first pic is something i have seen in 1x12 schematics but never in person, the adjustable bass response, you'll see second pic

the bottom of these cabinets have a optional port, i'll have a close up after the schematic is up

I think Kagi is better at digging up text buried in PDFs than Google is. At least that's been my experience.

The TL5050 is horn-loaded though, I think it's a bit different than the TL806. The EVM datasheets say that if you want a 2x12, just double it up like the cabs in OP. Twice the volume and twice the vent area, same vent depth.

ok yeah you're right, didn't even see the folded horn as part of the picture i attached

i asked moon about the 4x12, and given it's dimensions and possible weight it seemed out of the possibility of reality, when money etc AND shipping is concerned

ie 36x47x17d, that's bananas, even if i ordered empty (which i did) that's absolutely bananas

so idk, you're right, it's like 2 1x12s, but it's still very very very good sounding, and yeah a 4x12 would be cool, but i don't konw if it would destroy the foundation of my home or all load bearing walls first, jk

all of the larger cabinets (beyond a 1x12) all apparently for a bass, or as they're called a bass box,

i basically have the 4x12 because these are wired to be together, so a 4x12 basically

I dont think theres an official 2x12 Thiele blue print. Anyone that I've seen make a 2x12 Thiele took the build plan for a TL806Q and made half of it.

TL806Q is a damn fine cab!

i had a mojotone canyon 4x12 wth them, and i replaced that with a k100 x v30 mix and thought the em12s would be better fit in something like this

or i was going to sell the em12s

glad i got these cabinets frankly

YES there's no official 2x12 thiele blueprint, clearly the 2x12 has a folded horn, so i was incorrectly informing myself, and i am certain if i go back through the moon cabinet emails there's something to this effect,

How do you like that Mojotone Canyon 4x12? Did I read that it actually has less bass than a normal 4x12?

uhhh that's a hard question, it does have a port on the bottom, and is the size of an OS rectifier cabinet, idk i'm too dumb to notice while playing if that makes sense? i probably just adjust whatever amp i'm playing and not really think about it too too much
