I recently decided to build a few wahs again. I built a run back a couple of years ago and I got the itch again. This particular one is kinda special because I scored a mint non-working Vox V847 on EBay for $26! So I figured I'd try to build the most accurate 60's Clyde clone that I could. I started by etching an accurate Clyde replica board and sourced out some original NOS tropical fish caps, Telefunken BC109B transistors,Piher resistors and styrene caps. I also bought a few different inductors (Dunlop, Arteffect)which were nice but I wound up with a really killer one from a guy who winds his own.I went with the stock Clyde values and tooled around with resistor gain a little until I found a nice combo. Here's the finished clone. It sounds killer and has a great vintage vibe.
