Gotta replace my neck on a guitar. I've used warmoth before twice, but would consider others. This is going in a USA Fender Strat. I know the specs I want, I'm just curious which of these three is best in terms of overall quality, turnaround time, etc.

Cheers.

USACG is the best but can't do the fender headstock

I have a USACG neck and 3 MKs. All are superb. MK is now doing the Charvel style truss rod wheel and cutout so that’s pretty appealing to me.

Cool. Thanks for the response, guys. So I'd probably go MK, because I want a CBS Headstock for sure. ...Curious: why no Warmoth?

Cheers!

I did a super strat build last year with a Warmoth neck and couldn't be happier with it!

I've had Warmoth and Musikraft, predominantly Warmoth. Never had a problem with anything I've gotten from Warmoth, new or used. I currently have 6 full Warmoth builds and will hopefully be finishing number 7 tonight I've also done 7 other builds for other people using Warmoth necks and bodies. They are all great, or at least as great as I can make them. I have had a Musikraft neck in the past and it was as good as what I have gotten from Warmoth. I think they are all quality vendors with equal quality products. For me this decision comes down to customer service. Warmoth has the easiest spec and order process, and off the shelf ordering, out of all of them. I've never had a problem with them, so thats where the limits of my knowledge leave us...

If you want something specifically charvel or "franky" or whatever I think the Musikraft and USACG might hit those marks closer than the standard options Warmoth offers (i.e. hockey stick/banana headstocks, or features specific to EVH replicas and the like).

I just did two builds and used Warmoth and they both turned out great.

I think this is spot on.

If you are going after a very specific "thing", then MK is the way to go. If you just want a well-built generic product, then you have great options.

I'm a sucker for the idiosyncratic Charvel/Jackson version of the strat headstock (and the 50s Fender headstock they cut is millimeter perfect as well) so I love MK, but they are all good.

Been reading a lot about USACG doing downhill recently with new ownership. Lots of issues. I believe most of the old USACG crew jumped ship to another place called bestguitarparts.com

I've heard nothing but praise for BGP.

I just got a neck from Musikraft and it's a beautiful neck. I'm very pleased with it. Build time was about 7 weeks to my door.

Not sure but I do know he is no longer with USACG.

Musikraft.

To be honest, Warmoth feels like it's crafted better/nicer, BUT they don't do the San Dimas Charvel/Jackson backshape either if that's important to you. I've had 3 Warmoth over the years and I just ordered my third Musikraft, should be here in a few weeks.

I've had them all, but the MusiKraft is my favorite neck i have ever had.

It's the only neck i have bought that i've NOT had to do a fret level on. Super high quality. Feels so nice

Cool. Sounds like Musikraft is a favorite on here.

Can someone tell me if there's a real difference between 1 and 2-piece?

...Just priced up similar necks between Warmoth and Musikraft. MK is a bit more expensive. But I've heard several folks say the finished product for MK requires less attention to the frets, if any at all.

Had a small issue with Musikraft, the neck came with sharp fret edges, I sent the neck back and they took care of it at no charge, Warmoth necks I have bought pretty much came ready to go with no extra work needed, that being said I later had the Musikraft reshaped to Charvel specs by Lee Garver and it is now one of my favorite necks

What backshape did you order from Musikraft that you needed Lee Garver to work on it ? Did you order the Pro Mod C or Pro Mod D ?

I ordered the Pro Mod C 79 85, probably should of went went the 'D'? their Pro Mod C was way chunkier than my USA Charvel and EVH Stripe Series necks

Lee Garver has the correct templates that he got from Grover Jackson and they are spot on! I'll probably have him re-shape something else soon..
