Jim Gaustad proved this in his videos.

Exactumumdo PLX! But I would like to hear Jim use the Mighty Mite 1400 (9K) just to compare to the Gibson Burstbucker 3 he use in the original VH1 brown sound video just to compare the differences in the ratty crunch factor. I'm not saying the 8-9K PAF doesn't have some crunchiness to it but IMHO no where near the rattiness/crunch the Mighty Mite 1400 hits you upside the head with.

I have looked for a early NOS SD 59 neck pickup in the low 8K range to try out and almost hit BIN a few times but I am always so happy with my SD78 model and Mighty Mite that I never got around to it....but I would like to try one out just to compare....cause one never knows!!!!!!!

This is my Frankie B/W northern ash, brass nut and a fender callaham bridge with a SD 78 model wound by MJ. I know it's not a floyd but it should give you an idea of the VH range the SD78 model and Jalen Origin should give you as Al eluded to earlier! THe only thing used into this Ed spec 69 Marshall Metro build was a Clinch EP-PRE and Boss GE7 and the SD78 model.

Here's a pic of the amp you are hearing in the videos....

Sounds great...........you're getting the studio delay and reverb down........nice job that was a great listen. I'm listening to your FYLT clip right now!

The amp still sounds like the SLO preamp according to the gain structure I'm hearing in the clip... still sounds great though!
I went back into those other two clips and did some EQ work.

I like 'em better !

SD '59n is the banger.

Which interestingly enough is what Holdsworth used in the Red Baron (only with double philisters).

The AH-1 was never used, and I wonder why Seymour marketed it as such.

I had Jeff from HighOrder clone an Ibanez Super70 for me about a year ago.

Love that pickup

Just for comparison, this is my old Telecaster into a Bogner Telos, hardly a fire-breather (running in un-boosted JMP mode). https://youtu.be/Vxi2moEVQDI

Do you have any sound clips of it ?
I have a song I did with it somewhere (a demo for a writer) but I have no idea where that audio is. I was shocked at how great it sounded clean. Just a great, spanky sound. Again (pardon me for repeating myself), like a pissed-off Tele.

A clean sound ? Must have been defective.
