Hey guys, first post on this forum. I am starting to build a small rack, and I need a simple MIDI foot controller for everything. I don't want anything too complicated, just the ability to bank up and down and bypass units.

I currently have a Korg SDD-2000, I would like to pick up a TC 2290 and a Korg SDD-3000. I know the 3000 doesn't have MIDI but there are vendors who sell MIDI controllers.

If anyone has a simple recommendation on a good MIDI foot controller, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply ... I have been seeing some rather complex switchers and just want something real simple.

So if you want to control multiple units, you likely want to get a controller that can send different commands to each unit. Like 95% of midi controllers send a single PC message on a single channel. If you are fine with making all of your units require the same PC message and you don't care to edit CC values with switches (such as disabling a specific effect without changing patches), anything cheap will work.

If not, your options are the Behringer FCB, Rocktron Midimate, Morningstar, Airstep, and Ground Control Pro. There are a few others I've seen, but none seem as useful.

If I were buying today, I would go with Morningstar, no questions asked. I have a Midimate I picked up used for $80 that has worked fine. It is just a pain in the butt to program using the footswitches. I'll probably pick up a Morningstar if I ever want to reprogram things to save the headache.

That morningstar unit looks perfect. Thanks for the referral. If anyone knows someone with a spare Korg SDD-3000, including ones that are not working, let me know, I am interested.
