Expecting both an Ampeg VH140c and Crate GX130c soon.

Interested in a 2x12 cab for use with either head.

I play extreme metal, mainly old school brutal deathmetal.

Any recommendations wrt speakers, may have the cab built!

Thanks.

dunno, but I have two Engl Pro 2x12 cabs inbound. worth a look IMO.

Extreme metal?
VHT Fatbottom 2X12.
nothing better out there really..

For speakers....Eminence Legend V12's, Celestion GK-100's, Eminence Swamp Thangs, Celestion G12T-75's...Vintage 30's

Genz Benz G-Flex 212... I use one with a 1990 Peavey Revolution head which was designed to compete with amps like the Ampeg SS140/VH140 and it sounds absolutely amazing with it.. definitely adds low end punch!

Don't rule out a Marshall 1066B. Lightweight and hangs with 4x12's.

I had a Orange 2-12 with V30's a while back that sounded really great for the modern rock stuff I do, the low end was HUGE with that cab and a Recto but the damn thing weighted damn near what my 4-12 weighed so I sold it because the 4-12 was easier move around.

I love the Eminence Legends in my 4x12, but to me they felt a little thin and had a weak bass response in the 2x12 cab.
I replaced them with Eminence SwampThangs in the 2x12 and am very pleased with my 2x12 now.

I am running a port city standard 212 with Scholz speakers, and it kicks all kinds of ass!!! I have never been a fan of oversized cabs. I prefer the tighter sound of standard cabs. Before putting the Scholz speakers in there I had an Eminence Delta pro 12A, and Lynch super V, and it was bad ass too.

The port city cab destroys the other 212s I have had. Earcandy, Mesa metal grill vertical, and Avatar.

The VHT Fatbottom stock speakers are boring with the VH140C. That amp really needs a sizzling speaker. An Engl Pro cabinet would probably be a perfect match.

What happened to the Mills hype?
IIRC, the dude hasn't been sending out cabinets to last few people who've ordered.
