Why are medium to low output pickups recommended for the VH4 over high output pickups?

Just curious cause I will be trying out a Seymour Duncan 59/Custom Hybrid in my guitar soon. This is a moderate/low output pickup.

The amps have enough gain for using low output PU´s.
Of course it depends on the guitar. I use the standard
PU´s in my Tele, Strat and Les Paul but have a Bareknuckle
Warpig set in my PRS custom 24 because of the thin body.

In general I think the low or medium pickups have a better
performance concerning tone. Of course matter of taste as
we know.

Best,
Peter

Dynamics!

YES!!! It´s all in the wrist.
Since I tried low/mediumoutput Lundgren pickups I ´ve never wanted to look back.

Yep, dynamics... It's all about clarity being amplified by the amp, not the pups.

I love Diezel amps...period (just had to add that in there   )

Hope you are well Unlce Mo.

What do you think about a pup shootout
and barbeque in Bad Steben ?

I use the Osaka "Spicy Tuna Roll" pup at the bridge and the Rancho Villa "California Burrito" pup at the neck. Great combo...especially in the middle toggle position - best of both worlds...
