Thanks a bunch guys, I feel a lot better now.

Thats an interesting note on the bridge though. I've owned numerous LPs over the years, and from what I remember they have all had the screws face the tail piece. Having said that, they have all been used. Never bought a brand new one :)

Ah, it's no biggy... I see techs even stick 'em on backwards and they've been dealing with guitars for decades   It really doesn't matter, some come like that, some don't - if you go to the Gibson website you'll see 'em both ways. So it goes.

Both of the Gibson LP's i owned did the exact same thing as yours, it's perfectly normal and i have played tons of Gibson LP's that had the same thing happen too! Yours doesn't look fake at all IMO

I have owned a bunch of Les Pauls....Studio deluxe, Standard, Custom, and Custom Lites. Only 2 of those guitars had Logos looking Steves Custom pictured. The others had raised logos, finish cracking around the logo, etc. I am positive that you have genuine LP but it is always a safe bet to check with Gibson.

Let us know after you call Gibson. Many people feel confident here though. Me? Nope.....

looks legit to me
the logo in my 73 custom looks a lot more "fake"

Hey man I've got both my pauls packed up at the moment, but as I recall one of them has done a similar thing on the head stock. The pickup cavs look exactly like mine, and nothing about yours looks fake to me, I could be fooled too, but I wouldn't stress just yet.

Had the same thing on my logo in one of my Les Pauls. Don't worry about it man...

Not sure about everything else, but those look like legit burstbuckers to me.

Let us know if/when you contact Gibson. I'd like to know what they say because I've seen similar logos.

Been doing some research, and it seems that nearly every Chinese "Gibson" fake has a truss rod cover with 3 screws. The real ones have 2, so that's another bit of good news for you.

Yep - AND there's more space between the bottom of the truss rod cover and the nut AND the volume/tone knobs don't line up in straight lines with respect to the stop piece tail. I've seen some great great knock off's...

This one's LEGIT from what I can see.

Detective glassjaw on the case.

Here's a shot of an authentic Gibby pup cavity vs a fake.

One on the right looks like yours.

How's your headstock pitch and binding by the nut look from the side?

Dude , looks good to me, I have had quite a few LPs over the years and they all vary a little in the Logo area, I went and looked at the ones I have now, some I bought new, and the Standard that I have (I bought new) looks a lot like yours. If you look closely at SteveKs pic you can see the outline around the logo. V is right, all the geometry looks correct, Looking at the other pics, it all looks good to me, no worries. Nice looking LP BTW!!!

LP's are about as consistant as the weather is so don't feel wierd if others have logos that aren't raised.
