I'm looking for a new amp, mostly for rise against type of music.
I have a Marshall JMP MkII 2203 -79 today, and one Mesa 4x12 OS + one 1960 with all scumbacks (2 x M75 and 2 x H75)
So I need another amp since my Jmp only has one sound. Any suggestions? Soldan SLO = too expensive.
I have aprox 1500usd/1200eur to spend.

Edit: Tried a new dual rectifier, didnt like the sound of it, sounded plastic, artificial to my ears

Blackstar Series one 104EL34. Four usable channels.

Mesa Mark IV or older Dual Rectifier. Check out a Tremoverb.

mesa roadking 2: 4 channels, selectable power tubes and rectifiers +2 loops!

if you want just a great OD the tremoverb is a great option. there not to expensive either.

Engl Powerball or Savage 120 or the Peavy 6505+.

Ah how are those Engl and Peavey 6505 when recording? Are those
as fizzy as the dual rectifier? Or somewhere in between Marshall and Mesa in tone?

5150, mesa roadster, or a VHT Ultralead. All fantastic options and relatively inexpensive.

Got really interested in a 6505+, anyone got som experience to share?

Rivera K Tre, for something different. Very big sounding amp, and can go from a beautiful clean to all out metal with a boost. Depending on the tube compliment, it may not even need the boost, but mine sounds best with it. I grabbed mine for $1500 used and got the matching cab, which was almost-new, for $400.

Here's a quick clip of the Rivera. Sorry for the not-so-stellar mix, it was done really fast last year. This was a PRS Custom 22, Ibanez TS9, and the Rivera K412 with V30's in it, quad tracked rhythms, leads doubled. I don't remember much about when I tracked it, other than there were two SM57's on one speaker, one center-on-axis, the other off-axis at the dust cap/cone joint.

Thx Jordon, nice clip :) sounds awesome, been looking at that amp too but hard to get hold of up here in north :)

But I just got back from lunch and tried the 6505 through a Mesa OS 4x12, dang that was the sound I was looking for!
So I have decided for the 6505, would I benefit anything from going for the +-version? Really dont need a clean channel.
