Hey everyone. I have an offer on the table to trade my Bogner XTC 101B and Bogner 2x12 OS cab, for a CAE OD100 SE+ and CAA 2x12 cab. Is this a straight up trade scenario, or should there be cash involved on one end?

I'm just looking for a little input.

Thanks a lot!!

I would say, that unless the CAA is like almost new with the whomp 2, and all the bells and whistles, I think you should get money with the deal like ~$300

Now, if money isn;t the issue, those are my favorite 2 amps, and they are very different, but I like the bogner better. The CAA will have way better cleans, but I think the bogner is more versatile for different gain settings.

Unless you play only 80's solos... get the od100se+. As for cash I don't know tho.

To think that the Bogner is limited to 80's solo is a fetch.

Agreed. Last 101B I played had way more tones in it than I would use, and all of them were good.

worth about the same.

I like Bogners more, personally.

Sorry, I didnt meant to say the 101b could only do 80s solo. BUT it sounds freaking awesome for that purpose. Otherwise I'd say the CAA is more "musical" and got a tighter bass response, which I like

I'd say keep the Bogner.....My OD100SE+ lasted about a week sitting next to my XTC.

I'd imagine its a fair deal in terms of worth. However, I'd check to make sure exactly WHAT the OD100 SE+ is. The thing about these CAA amps (and I know because I did the same thing) is that people buy older versions and send them to Suhr where they are "upgraded" to current specs. I am not sure if I believe that older amps can be made to be 100% like the newer versions, I could be wrong though.

The OD100 SE+ I had was pretty cool, the clean channel was great, but for me that's not a huge selling point. Anyway, though I wasn't really choosing between them, I got rid of the OD100 after having it for just a little while. My XTC was and is a better amp for me. Besides, though I didn't run an overdrive pedal in front of it, I could never get the amp to sound like some OD100 SE+ amps that I've heard, and I admit I bought into the internet hype based on clips and videos.

I would like to try the PT100 but I bet it would end up for me being similar to the OD100 in that its just not better or different enough from the other amps that I have to keep it. Also, I don't like how these amps are always changing...you end up feeling like you have the "old" version pretty quickly with all the different "Whomp" circuits, FX loops, gain stages, etc...

A long winded answer to a question that you didn't ask!!!

:D

I just actually found out that the amp has the whomp but it isn't whomp II. What does that do to value of it?
