thinking about blowing some doh on a 3 head 6 space rack ata case, (*well aware this is insane (don't plan to move it(and i know i could never sell it)))

anyways red or black, is the choice, ie i did one layout in black the other in red, tell me what you think, besides i'm an asshole

the reason to get this is to keep all the DAR amps i have safe!, i have all three that mike made that i care about, forza tuzzia and FBM, so yeah balbalbalbaldsfjasdkjf l;kasdfj

pics b-low

I've been looking at similar rack layouts for quite some time. In fact, there's a 2-head unit for sale in the classifieds, but it's local pick-up only and too far away.

Anyway, given those choices, the second option (red) is more appealing to me. Personally, I would just stack the three spaces for heads and have the rack-mount section at the very top to minimize the width. Plus, having the rack gear and pedal tray up higher would make it easier to fiddle with the things that you would most likely be adjusting most often.

Just my .02

that is a good point i hadn't thought of, ie having the rack stuff higher so as to make it easier to fiddle with,

thanks!

Plus, that layout gives you three areas for "full-sized" heads. Even if you run a small form-factor amp, you could always reconfigure the padding and stuff a big amp in the space if future needs dictate...

If it's never going to leave your house, why not just buy some shelving? Wouldn't that protect the amps enough and keep things organized?

probably hehe, i think you might be right, i'll find out,

i don't plan on having it leave my house,

A) i don't have slaves/roadies or any form of labor on hand

B) it will weigh like 400-500 lbs

and you're probably right,

idk

all you really need is one of these...

800lbs per shelf holding capacity, your precious DARs will be just fine

sad or funny thing is i already own a shelving system from the depot or lowe's, i can't remember where i bought it now, but yeah, i thought this would be cool to have a 3 head ata case for no reason, of course knowing it's entirely unnecessary

i'm an asshat

oh wells,

slerp derp

thanks for reminding me, for real talk

I like the red one but i agree with everyone that if it's not going to leave the house spend less money and make some really nice shelves or build a nice cabinet.

I say go for it. Personally, I would much prefer to have a legitimate rack than shelves. It's more organized, takes less space and is portable. It would be heavy, but so what? My rack rig weighs about 200 pounds, but it's on wheeels and the equipment trailer has a ramp. Fortunately, none of the places we play require us to haul up/down stairs and have (relatively) decent load-in areas...

I say buy/build whatever the hell you want.

I have TWO dual head roadcase stereo rigs that NEVER leave the house.

I like my diezel case because the rack is offset and gives room for a drawer, nice feature as compared to my other one with the rack in the center and just foam all around it. I'd say go for the red diagram.

That first picture is exactly what I would go for. Offsetting the rack gear and using the space for a drawer is handy. Power cords, tuner, extra strings and tools, condoms, whatever...

I believe the wider footprint of the first one is better. These are the heaviest amps ever, and the less height involved the better.

That being said, you will have more weight on the fbm/forza side than the tuzzia/rack side.

And if you do sell it, you do have a buyer.lol
