Hi guys,

The LPC i stripped are getting a make over.

New laquer, hardware and everything.

I need some help finding the best hardware for it:

Tailpiece and bridge (black)
Locking tuners (black)
Pickup rings (for 3 humbuckers) (black)
Pickup switch including plastic cover

I've done this on quite a few les pauls. I honestly go for stuff that sounds good and is just drop in. I know you are a bit away or else I would link direct to buy.
  1. Tone pros bridge and tail piece
  2. Grover 502BC or Kluson revolution lockers. Both come in black. I believe Gotoh SG301-04 would work also but haven't tried myself. I've used all of the above and thy're all solid. Schallers and sperzels are rad too but I like the classic les paul look the others provide.
  3. Schaller black strap locks
  4. Earvana Nut
  5. Get the pickup rings from gibson
  6. Gibson and stew mac (and probably others around you) have the jack plate.
  7. Switchcraft toggle and jack.
  8. Poker chip cover should be readily available from many retailers.
  9. CTS pots.
If you didn't want black hardware I have pulled so many fucking sets of gold off of les pauls I have refinished I would just sent you all this shit lol.

I did this to a white LPC I had years ago. All black hardware. And EMG’s.

I want to say most the hardware was Gotoh. They make the locking tuners and tailpiece for sure.

The “best” pickup rings are Throbak. But expensive. The Dimarzio rings are around $15-20 and is what I would use.

Got it. Hard to tell but a 1980 used nashville style bridges I believe. So I believe the LPM04 should be correct.

Explain to me why I should spend $200 on bone pickup rings. Are they that much better than brass, wood, or other pickup rings? This just blew my mind.
Just depends on what you’re after.

I used the Throbak rings on my 52/57 Les Paul conversion. They’re very close to actual vintage M69’s, which you want on a 74 year old guitar.

On the LPC pictured above, I used Dimarzio rings, which are under $20 a pair. Just no need for a vintage spec ring in that scenario.
