need some help with pedal choices

decided to get some analog pedals for my analog rig to keep the axe fx and digital out of the mix.

overdrive delay and chorus, plus a remote looper.

looking at the el capistan for delay. wondering how the dry analog section sounds vs without, don't like tone suck.

also want a chorus upfront and like watery sounds but have no idea what to look at, been eyeing the empress nebulus thus far.

looking at the gig rig remote loopy2 and footswitch unless anyone has any leads on similar remote products. no cable runs to pedalboard.

I use the Red Witch Empress chorus, and it's great!

I tend to like all the visual sound stuff so I'm sure it's great. I'm just not a big chorus guy.

Not a pedal, but the TC 1210 Spacial Expander for flanger/chorus stuff. So good.

My AnalogMan Chorus (with toggle switch) does everything I want/need from a chorus.

Delay: currently I have MXR Carbon Copy and Malekko 616 and I`m eyeing a Retro-Sonic delay to compare them side by side.

As far as chorus goes i think the Maxon CS-550 is a winner.

The older Visual Sound H2O Liquid Chorus & Echo pedals are lovely. Very watery and warm.

If I didn't have it though, I'd definitely get a Red Witch Empress. Very nice sounding chorus.

In fact I suggest to try every chorus that has a Delay Time control, otherwise forget it (unless it's a Boss CE-1!)

However I have to admit, I use my Electro Harmonix Deluxe Electric Mistress flanger for 'chorusing' more than anything else.

For overdrive I love the Seymour Duncan 805. Picked this up recently and it's the best overdrive pedal I've played through. Sounds better than my Maxon OD9 and VS Jekyll and Hyde.

the el capistan is a great choice if you're into the tape echo thing, great pedal to mess with as well, lot of great sounds in that box

had one on my small pedalboard for the best part of 3-4 years, definitely not going anywhere =) very high quaity dsp, no tone suck

don't think there's an alternative to the gig rig remote 2 , remote loopers usually involve midi/rack units and the like , with a lot more loops but yeah

Lusting after a timeline or el cap for messing around at home. Live setup I dig the ML JR for its no nonsense simplicity. But it's not analog.
