Seeing as i have been going pedal crazy these past few months, i decided i should add a 'boutique' wah to the list.
Right now i am using a modded Cry Baby and Vox V848.
What others would you suggest i check out?
Some people mentioned to look for ones that have external adjustment pots.
I'd like to keep it under 250$ (seeing as i use a wah sparingly)

a "boutique" wah JC???

Well, lah dee fucking dah!

Whats wrong with your current ones? What ain't they doing for you?

I have a vox clyde mccoy reissue and a Teese Wheels of Fire Wah. I used to have a modded crybaby. For the money a modded crybaby is hard to beat.

I would check out the Teese RMC wahs, they have alot of adjustments. Also the Fulltone Wah is supposed to be nice.

Teese Wizard Wah if you play most of the time with gain.
Budda Wah for all around applications.

I'm going to look into those.
We have a local store that sells Teese.

Teese and Real McCoy are the same right?
Just wondering because some stores list them as Teese, others list them as Real McCoy.

I just bought one of the Budda wahs and it's real nice. The sweep isn't nearly as wide as your Vox, but it's real smooth sounding and doesn't get harsh when the toe is all the way down. I dig it.

HBE is actually working on a new version of the Medicine Bawl, it'll have both vintage and modern inducters that will be switchable or combined, Brent has the prototype and said "It's a bad motherfucker"

I'm getting one as soon as I can.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a wah. I went to a place and played:

Fulltone Clyde
Budda Wah
Teese RMC1
Teese RMC3
Teese Wizard Wah

I played clean and dirty through a MKIV with both a Nash Strat w/single coils and a Suhr Standard w/Aldrich hums. The verdict:

I bought the Teese Wizard Wah. It sounded by far the best with distorted humbuckers and still sounded very good with single coils either clean or dirty. I will say that if I was only playing a strat w/single coils, I might have grabbed the RMC1, but it still would have been very close...

I say go for a Teese Wizard...

Yes...Teese and Real McCoy (RMC) are the same.

what a fruit. hahahaha

get a teese rmc3.

I like the Budda Budwah, but it's a very polite wah and it's true bypass.
I find it excellent because I can use the whole sweep. It's not as wide of a sweep, compared to say a Crybaby, which for me gets too harsh toe down and too dark heel down.
I'm really not a fan of screechy wahs.

I bought a 535Q, not the greatest wah out there but good enough for me right now as I suck at wah.

I've owned a Budda, a Clyde (pre-deluxe/standard), a prototype Teese Picture, and various Crybabys and Morleys. My favorite overall was probably the Picture, but they were all different enough that each had strengths and weaknesses. I think you really have to match it up with your preferences and the rest of your rig.

Yeah, i think i'll ahve to concentrate on a nice wah for my clean to med. gain rig first (DrZ).
I won't use it much on my higher gain rig (Splawn)
