So I ended up taking my awesome Retro Sonics Chorus Enseble off my pedalboard for the MXR 10 Band EQ. Now I need a replacement, size of a Boss that runs 9V. I want a heavy 80's style chorus. Think The Fixx, Howard Jones, Missing Persons, Niel Geraldo. Very lush, not looking for subtle!

???

The Boss CE-2 is the best example of an 80's chorus IMO. Go to about the halfway point of the video for the thick stuff.

The Ibanez CS9 is good.
Guys that weren't using racks used the CH-1.
The ADA and MXR were great as well.
The Analogman is very lush and full.
I dig the CE-5 because it work so well with gain.
CE2 is probably the best.

Neubeur chroma wet chorus
Rocktron dreamstar on the cheap

If you want to go cheap, TC's Corona chorus will get there with some of the tone prints. I picked one up used for $45 and used the CE-2 tone print. I eventually sold it because I am using my TimeLine for a modulation effects and needed room on the board.

The Petrucci crunch chorus worked pretty well with medium to just beginning to be heavy levels of gain.

I had a 80's Ibanez BC9 bi-mode Chorus that was a great pedal. Wish I never sold it.

Red Witch Empress Chorus is what I use and it's great! It's larger though. About the same size as a MXR Flanger.

Analogman mini chorus with mix knob.....very warm.

Size of an MXR pedal. A little pricey but worth every penny.

As always, experiment with placement. The boss in the loop wasnt that impressive, but it sounded great n front of the amp. Not subtle at all

I got one of these for $60

It's a China job, but all hand wired, did a good job too and it sounds great. I don't know what the availability is, I got mine on Ebay.
