Never Thought This Day Would Come

How much is that piece anyways? I grew up on guns and they are fun to shoot, but playing killer amps and guitars are much more fun IMO. I say just get rid of your least prized Silverburst!!!

Keep all your shit, save up, buy more shit... My daily mantra as I'm tempted to off one of my killer guitars for something else. The gun maker isn't going to shut his doors and ever build another gun. Unlike guitars, guns don't have individual traits to their performance such as guitars, OR even amplifiers it seems. If you can save up the coin and buy a new R9 outright, you can save up the coin necessary to shell out for that pistola. Keep the fiddles, keep the amp and get a gun to guard that rig. Win, win and win.

I mean the zombie apocalypse could be any day now, which would you rather have when that time comes...

You have a point. :D

And whomever said get rid of the R9 before the Silverbursts... you also have a point. :)

Dump the VH4, get the piece, save up and get another VH4.

this

of just keep saving for the gun.

dont' be impulsive!!!!!!

I could keep saving for the 1911. But I may be moving soon. And because I live in Michigan, it's easy to buy one. May be moving to another state where it would be more difficult. Add to that a six month wait until I'd be legally allowed to purchase, on top of a one-year lead time for an Ed Brown unless you can find one in a store somewhere. Guess that gives me plenty of time to start saving. :D

If I'm ever to have a house full of guitars, this mantra must stand! Plus, Norlin era 'Pauls are heavy enough in most cases to be used as a blunt weapon!

That is a nice gun but I would keep the LP's and the Diezel, you would surely get a lot more use out of them.
This - 100%

Dude, c'mon, seriously... You play your gear way more than you'd squeeze off some caps with that piece. Besides, gun only makes one type of noise - bang bang. Your gear? Endless.

Just sayin'

All angles have been pretty much covered already but I agree with the group that says-keep saving for the gun. I shoot myself, totally understand that G(un)AS as well as the G(ear)AS. Just keep saving.

There's also this one. :D It's like the Diezel of guns.

I dunno dude, to me if you can't answer the question "who you gonna shoot with it?" I'd stick with the gear and just save up for it! If someone is pissing you off though, by all means go for it, and remind me not to piss you off

those ed browns are so Nice olmost did about the same thing last year..selling my 89 LPC to help fund one..ended up getting springfield A-1 loaded then bought some wilson combat parts for it...while my A-1 is not as nice as a Ed brown ..its pretty sweet now and I got to keep my LPC :)

Yeah, they are definitely tempting. :D

Wilsons are sick. A little out of my price range, though. Springfields are pretty reliable I hear.

It's already started. That's all I can say for now...

I guess I just don't get the "need" for a gun.

If you're a musically inclined individual, or write and record or jam or gig, or whatever - you can justify gear.

What's the justification of a piece? And I know I'll get flamed for this question - I know, right to bear arms etc etc - but up here in Icebackland, we can't legally carry weapons, which therefore translates to not really needing weapons. If you're caught in cultural crossfire, you shouldn't have been there in the first place. Most of the cats donning a grip up here are too young and too stupid to know how they work. I've had to "manage" a couple cats who were packing; it was all psychology. In the end, they should thank me as they'd have ended up blowing their dick off or putting a hole in their foot. Idiots.

But the gun-in-America thing... Why? Is it because there's an ever-present threat and you need to protect yourself (which if this is the case, I totally 100% get it, for sure)? I'm just wondering.

If you need a gun for personal or home defense, those are cheap. It seems like you have collected some nice musical toys. I would wait and save for the gun. I has taken many years but I have accumulated many toys. At times I thought of selling some off. It would have been a mistake. If you liked it enough to buy it, then I say to keep it.

I have noticed a lot of guitar players also like guns.

Wilson Combat 1911 was sweet. I will be happy with my Kimber Custom. Not quite as swanky at the range though...

Rock on.

Never thought I'd sell one of my Silverbursts — or even my Diezel — but, I'm thinking about it because I want me one of these Ed Brown Kobra 1911s. I have two Silverbursts... may not need both of 'em. One is in for a refret right now at Philtone. When I get it back I'll have to decide which one goes. Or I could sell my VH4 since it's an amp and I can always find another one if need be. Can't replace a guitar since every one is different. I dunno!

What do?!

HAHAHAHA!!

You gotta be kidding me.. I was half considering this very concept for an Ed Brown. I've been browsing through the 1911 forum too much, I think.

Except I'd be rock'n the full size, But I'd still go for the Brown Bobtail. Probably on a special Forces or Classic Custom
