New 12-channel Randall amp. No sh!t.

Stumbled onto this earlier. 50W AB 6L6, 12 channels, 3 cooling fans, live human brain, etc. Seems pretty fuckin' awesome. How many people can truthfully say "I've got a 12-channel amp designed by Bruce Egnater."

Actually, I think I said to Bruce, in July '07, "Hey Bruce, why stop at 4 modules in an M4? Can't you make an M12 or an M18?"

He was like, "IDK, that would take a ton of heater current for all of those preamp tubes, and I don't think it's very practical."

I think I saw one of these, loaded, going for less than three grand US buy it now on ebay last week, Although I can't find them any of them up there now so I might have been imagining things.

If I had the money I'd get two of these thing. Load them both with modded modules, a pair of good quality power amps and cabs and end up with the most versatile stereo rig ever made.

But I don't have the money, which is why I have a second hand RM100 sitting at the post office waiting to be picked up instead.

Keep in mind that it already has a 50W power amp, so if you added a stereo power amp, you could run regular stereo or W/D/W.

Oh jeez, thanks for pointing out that I can't read That'd explain the RM1250 name as well. For some reason I was thinking this was like 3 RM4s piled on top of each other.

I'd load it all with the same modules to keep from being confused and accidentally calling up the wrong one.

Hell as is, it's probably still lighter than the RM100..... F'n HEAVY amps.

Man, you'd have to REALLY hate the Axe-FX to want to carry around what will probably amount to a 200-300 pound amp, and cost $5K after modules.

I don't hate it, it sounds pretty good to my ears, but I do prefer tubes to chips..

Some people however do hate it quite a bit over at HCAF, and it is the source of much butt-hurt over there at times...
