Sweet looking amp! I really like what I'm reading in this thread about your perspective on building, parts sourcing, and how so many of the parts (and all the manufacturing) is done in the U.S. But please tell me that you will still be chassis mounting the tube sockets when you switch to PC boards for your production run.

Wow.. Great work, Craig!

Sounds so good.. Are these going to be in production for a while?

Good luck in your venture. Looks like you have a great thing going here. Keep going with what got you here and what your experience has shown you. This amp looks very clean and could be special.

Really enjoying the clips.

Price: Amazing!
Clips: Drool worthy!

G.A.S. assessment: May delay the Double Rec purchase...

When you say "a tube buffered effects loop " , is it line level (+4db) or -10db guitar level ?

What I mean by "tube buffered effects loop" is that an entire dual triode envelope is being used for both the driver and recovery stages. No solid state components in the effects loop circuit.

Output level varies based on preamp signal, but is essentially line level (typical series loop in a guitar amp).

Yes, definitely. While I have to design the production amps for ease of assembly, I will also be designing for reliability and rigidity. To me, chassis mounted tube sockets are essential for this.

Thanks for the good words!

Thanks! We will have to see how they do of course. I'm hoping they do well and we keep them in production for a good long time while expanding the line.

Awesome build and cool clips! I'd love to hear a high gain clip through the Creambacks.

Thanks! I plan to do some high gain clips with Creambacks and V30s as well. I have to get some CEC stuff caught up which has pulled me off the recording for a bit, but I'll be getting some more clips going for sure.

That looks badass, Craig.

You're not helping my GAS at all.

Thanks! I tried to work GAS instigation into the design.

looks and sounds great man, congrats.

Much appreciated!

There's a guy on another forum I visit who tried it and loved it. The Facebook has pics of Tosin Abasi trying it out and from what I've heard from Craig and others, several big name metal dudes came out to try it. I'll send Craig an e-mail and see if he'll stop by.

Hi, thanks for the interest! I responded to a question in another thread. Here's the copypasta of that:

The amp was received extremely well at NAMM by several folks in the rock and metal scenes. Some of the players that came in the booth and played on the amp were:

- Phil Sgrosso (As I Lay Dying)
- Tosin Abasi (Animals As Leaders)
- Rob Chappers (Dorje and YouTube fame)
- Marzi Montazeri (Phil Anselmo solo project)
- Rogelio Lozano (downset. and Cypress Hill)
- Patrick Judge (Demon Hunter)
- Jeremiah Scott (Demon Hunter)
- Dan Palmer (Death by Stereo)
- Greg Harrison (P.D.P. and Musicians Institute)
- Dane Markanson (P.D.P. and Musicians Institute)
- Patrick Sheridan (Fit For An Autopsy)
- Dan Banura (Murder Death Kill)

All but Tosin and Marzi will be using the Hybris in some form or fashion. Tosin is obviously an Axe-FX guy, but he did like the Hybris. And although Marzi loved it, he's in an endorsement with Randall right now.

The amp is priced at $999.

Sounds nice. I like seeing all these competitively priced amps coming out.
