New AIC! What do you think?

I've listened to it twice so far and I'm really diggin it. Very dark which I like. A litlle mellower overall than what I would have though. It sound like Cantrell though!! Good stuff!! :rock:

That is until the Radio RUINS IT! :lol: :LOL:
Didnt care for it much at 1st....but it has been growing on me. :thumbsup:
 
I think that my wait until about 11:00 before I can go to lunch to buy it is going to take forever. I do see a good night of jamming out to the new tunes though.
 
I have been listening to it on and off since Friday and I am liking it a lot..

I think it's REALLY good, alot better than I was expecting, wasn't sure at first, but I really like it.
 
A Looking In View is an absolutely killer song. Just what I was looking for.
My jaw almost dropped when I saw the video last week.
 
I like it and think it's a good CD. My only crit is I wish William would have been allowed to do more lead vocals and not have Jerry so much out front or harmonizing with what seems to be 80% of all the vocals.

If a good part of the songs vocally were more like "Acid Bubble" and "Last of My Kind" I'd like it even more.
 
It's ok, not great, IMO.

Kinda slow and plodding for a lot of the record. I also agree that the vocals are too harmonized, would prefer to hear some solo voice melodies every once in a while. I thought the same thing of Jar of Flies. Maybe it will grow on me.

This is my only complaint as well. Let him be the lead vocalist. It seemed that on "Tripod" there was a shift of Jerry singing alot more of the main vocal lines - and this album continues that even moreso. I hope they give William the reigns a little more in the future. He's got great vocal chops that aren't really displayed much on this album.

"Last of My Kind" is one of my favorite songs along with Looking view, Acid bubble & Check My Brain(the opening riff, I can't get enough :D )

He is great vocalist. I love the stuff he did on the Comes With The Fall CD's. I told my brother if the new AIC was a mix of those two bands it would be a freakin great album but that didnt happen. :aww:

Far as William/lead vocals go, I bet you see him do more of that on the next album.

There seems to be a somewhat calculated transition with him taking center stage, so to speak, whether it be perfomance/photos etc. You know, so as not to alienate the die-hard Layne fans.
 
This record rocks when is the last time you heard a rock record like this? Sonicly its killer.
 
Super sonic Production- The writing is really detailed too. I like it alot.

i'm 4 tracks into it, and it's dark and very alice! i'm glad too see they are back. :yes:
 
I'm really loving this one. :rock: Already learning everything on the geetar :rock: It makes you realize how shitty most of the current rock acts are. :aww:

No doubt. It's hard for me to think of the last album I got that was this good, front to back - with excellent detail in writing and production.
 
so far it's awesome...it really captures the dark AIC vibe,that really seemed to be missing on the 3 legged dog disc ( I was not a fan of that at all)...It sounds amazing, and to me slow and plodding is what AIC is all about! It really does seem more Alice in Chains than Cantrells solo stuff...
