I think the mix is great!! Love the room reverb vibe on the snare. Song is ok... which is still good for A.I.C!! Excited about the 'sound' and looking forward to the new album... good to have them around and relevant again.

That being said.. New Tool album half done!! Looking forward to 2013!

-Alice in Chains
-Sevendust
-Tool
-Alter Bridge
-Sacred Mother Tongue
....... hell to the yes

i like it. i dig new singer stuff..he be killer on old stuff too

Kind of a snore for me... I liked DIRT and Facelift but I find the later stuff sounds like the tempo never moves and the vocals (doubled and tripled it seems) drift me into a coma. The actual sound of everything is great though.

Like the last album, it desperately needs Layne, but it's still good.

Last album was phenomenal. It showed that Cantrell WAS AIC. Staley was just the seasoning on the steak IMO. Cantrell was the meat.

Totally disagree. I found the vox pretty boring on the last album without Layne. Cantrell has a great voice, but it's rather plain. It worked really well in contrast to Layne's very unique voice, but it gets a little "bleh" with the new singer. The new singer just doesn't work IMO. He's another singer with a pretty plain voice, and it needs that contrast between the vox. The new guy just sounds like a nasally version of Jerry.

And the lyrics DEFINITELY aren't as good without Layne.

I agree for the most part.

This new song is a pretty good song. Still... the vocals, while good, just sound too thin to be AIC. They lack the bite of Layne's voice.

Nope. I don't see it that way at all.

Ya, Cantrell contributed most. That said, I'd like the new stuff a lot better if he'd sing less. Let the lead singer sing!

So only another 3-4 years to go?

Looking forward to the new AIC album, whenever it comes out.
