Hi guys, Bill Landry here. This is my first ever post on any forum. I want to thank the guys (I'm not sure if it's cool to use first names here and I don't know there user names) that invited me to the ampfest yesterday. I was blown away at the response to my amps especially when compared to, the Bogners, Splawn, Egnater, Mesa,Buda, and Guytone( I think that was the name) that were there. These are all very good sounding amps. I also want to bring up the speakers. I brought two 4x12 cabs. One with vintage 30's and one with g12-65's. Everything sounded better on the 65's! These are incredible speakers. I have a cab that I bought new in 1983 with these speakers, and a new cab with the reissue speakers. They really do sound like the old ones! The problem is they list for about $220.00 a piece! But if you're looking for a huge sound that is very open and punchy, it is worth checking these out.

Welcome ! You have great taste in speakers  Those are my two favorites and if your amps are voiced with them I'll bet they kick ass :)

I've heard far too much good stuff about the Celstion 65's... I need a cab with 'em for my JMP!

Imagine a Greenback optimized for higher volume/gain and thats the 65s. (Less top end hair, more solid low end and lots more of it, same midrange character)

Daver, cool picture of Steve Morse you have there. He's one of my favorites.

Me too. A friend got me a copy of The Introduction and Stand Up way back in 1985, and I was hooked from that point on!

I have one available now. But it may not be here long. Otherwise, it would take a couple of weeks.

Oh my God, what an amp. Bill, I just might have to get one. What do you have available?

Just thought I'd chime in from my experience as well.

Bill's a cool guy and one HELL of a player. I'd say the Landry was the only amp I played yesterday that made feel the slightest bit of GAS :D

What really needs to be emphasized was how clear and "alive" sounding they were (especially through the 65 cab). Both channels are very versatile; at one point, Chris had the clean channel set so close to the gain channel's sound that it was hard to tell the difference. And best of all, when you roll off the volume, the clean sound is amazing. Not an in-between sound with some grit (though you can get that), but an honest-to-god CLEAN.

The only thing I didn't get to hear was how the amps sound at lower volumes. They were turned up pretty freakin' loud

I will be surprised if Chris doesn't own one by the end of the month ;)

Oh COME ON! We're talking about Chris, of course he's going to have one. It's not as if you're a prophet or something. :D

Welcome aboard. Clips of your amps?

A freind of mine had two old tan Marshall 4X12's that he bought from Steve Miller with 65's in them. His house burned down and lost everything. But the cabs just sounded great.
I still have one old 65' - 12 great speaker.
