Other than looks, What's the difference between this amp and the regular 5153? I was sold on the 50 W until the stealth posts started surfacing

The Stealth model has the mods that Eddie requested be done while he was touring with the regular 5150 III's.

As far as I know, the clean channel in untouched, they increased the gain on channels 2 and 3 and also re-voiced them. There are also 3, resonance controls at the back of the amp. One per channel.
And its one bad ass amp.
Just need more time to tweak. But I am getting some kick ass tones for sure. Cant believe Eddie uses this much gain.

To be fair, his old 5150's are very famous amps for metal but Eddie dialed back the gain and rocked it.

Out of the blackness....comes TONE! Gratz!
Thanks man! Honestly.......I am still getting over how Brutal/Killer this amp is. ;)

Congrats! I'm loving my EVH 50 watt so much I'm tempted to order one of these.

Yah man..would of gotten one of the 50's..but when I jam full band pushing two 4x12's...I need that power and headroom.
The Stealth is crazy good.

Damn thats sexy.
How long is that bad mofo?
Looks a few inches more than the Diezel

Here is the Tower of Power!!

Pure BLISS! I wish you enjoying it!

Please check the power tubes when you have a minute.

Nice looking for sure. Happy for ya.

But.......It has too much gain :(

I would of kept mine, but channel two with the gain at 9 was overkill for me, and channel 3 we'll forget it, way over the top. You can't fully use the gain controls.

Still, a very nice amp

I always wondered what the difference was between the Stealth and the regular one.

Bias test points as well. Makes live easier when installing new power tubes.

I've had it. I'm going to order one! I've always had a tube amp since I started playing in the very early 80's and while I love the Kemper, I just can't get things rolling live for my own monitoring on stage where I am 100% happy. I know the FOH tone is great but I can easily do that with this amp and a Torpedo Live. I've been down that road before and had all of my bases covered with my previous JVM410HJS and Live. I should have just stayed with that setup. Sometimes there is something to be said about having 3 channels for your tone and simple adjustments from there on in. I don't play live as much as I used to but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate great tone at home when playing.

I like this amp because of the resonance and presence controls for all three channels, as well as the changes to the tonal structure for the blue and red. Not happy about not having midi but I can work with the stock footswitch.

Geezz and 0% for 36months, please don't approve me please don't approve me....

Thanks guys! Yeah this amp has the most gain on any
amp I have heard or played.
lucky I like high gain amps. :D
I was getting some good rock tones out of it too.
it's real sensitive on the dials. Pretty touchy. Don't have to crank dials far to change tone. Gonna be some time to get it perfect where I want. Can't do that until I play with my drummer.

It's almost the same size of the diezel. Maybe half inch wider. But just slightly bigger.
Gonna swap positions and move the vh4 on top.

Can you guys explain something to me?

I see there's Peavey EVH amps, Fender 5150's and I see EVH amps.

I'm assuming EVH was on with Peavey, then went to Fender?

I'm looking at this EVH 5150 mini amp. Watching vids, but it's tough to get an idea of whether the gain is similar to a standard 5150, which I'm told is great for metal / thrash / super saturated tone.

Sorry if I missed this, but what cab/speakers you playing through with the Stealth?

I tried a the original 5150iii 100 watt head for a week through the EVH 4x12 (greenbacks), and I really didn't like it, gain was really flubby, channel 2 was especially flat. When I tried the 5150iii 50 watt 2x12 combo in the store it sounded amazing, especially through the G12H30 speakers, channel 2 was a monster even before you got to channel 3.

I think the voicing of the Stealth and 5150iii 50 watt would be best through v30's really

I am playing it thru two 4x12s.
Randall Lynch box cabs. They have emenince Super V
speakers. Real deep lush sound. Every amp I play thru these cabs sounds great. I can't brag these cabs up enough.
