I tried one of the 5150 III's out at GC yesterday and thought it sounded really good. I've never tried any of the EVH stuff out before but I was pretty impressed. I was playing at really low volumes but it sounded thick and harmonically complex and very versatile. My main impression was that it had a shitload of gain. Way more than I can ever imagine using. And now your saying they increased it on channel 2 and 3 for the Stealth. Holy fuck !!!. I was running the gain down around 1/3rd on channel 2 and couldn't even really find a use for channel 3. I see why I always liked eddies old tone on the marshall's when he was having to do every thing he could to get the gain and tone.

I like these amps..... I only played on them a few times.... Maybe a few hours total.
