I've had 2 of them and I am kind of wanting one again. I agree they are criminally underrated.

Hey how are the 50 Archon's? I have a chance to pick one up pretty cheap. I seem to be on a 50 watt kick lately.
 
I never heard or played a 50.
If they are voiced same as the 100 and you can get a deal snag it! :yes:

Congrats on the amp Dan! Once you have a fav, it's hard NOT to have one around. I'm on my 8th Jubilee I think..lol.

I tried a 50w Archon Combo at a GC a while back, didn't like it that much. It was Ok but seemed to lack some gain/balls. Maybe something was up with it. I'd always go for the 100w versions of most amps if I have the choice.
 
The combos come with a G12T-75 speaker stock, it doesn't work too good with the amp, when I changed mine out for a greenback it really started rockin. I can't speak for the 50 watt in particular, but I do know the early ones no matter what the wattage have an effects loop that can really make the amp sound not so good, you can foot switch it out. There is a factory mod kit that you can get from PRS to fix the loop issues.

That said I actually like the 25 watt Archon better than the 100 but I just play at home, so the wattage is more useable for me. I would think the 50 should be pretty good too!!!!

Trust me its one of my all time top 5 amps. Just when I had them in the past something comes up to trade and I know there are a lot of these out there.

I had that exact amp at my house for a few months. Just KILLER! You didn't pick it up from a forum member by chance, did you?

Yes sir !! But again this is my 3rd Archon. After playing it last night cranked with drummer.
It has to be my top 3 amp ever. It just killed. If you get a chance snag one.
Gotta fire up the katana later today. See what that's all about. :lol: :LOL:
