New amp suggestion?

My EVH 5150III 100w head started having a couple odd noise issues (feedback from the effects loop, and a crazy-loud hum that was there at all times); took it to a tech and from the sound of things, it may be time to purchase a new head >.<

Details: I'm likely getting some of this wrong, but here's what I remember from the conversation with the tech- one of the tubes had the filaments fuse and it needed to be replaced (odd but ok?), but there's a bad hum still and it seems part of the PCB has gone bad. He said some words that meant nothing to me like carbon arc, voltage plate, bypass with tube (or fuse?). I don't remember much past this point as the nausea from hearing this news was setting in...

Any suggestions on a new head? Enjoy playing Volbeat, Van Halen, Zeppelin, Metallica, classic rock. Playing at home, not currently gigging.

I'm still holding out hope that I'm not going to need to replace this head, but... yeah. :\

I'm not opposed to getting another 5150III per se, but this is the first and only time I've had a problem with the amp, so to be in the market for a new one after one issue is kinda souring me on replacing it without exploring other options and asking for advice.

Try the 50 watt 5153 and see if you like it.

Or maybe the 50 watt mini mark 5.

Or get a Diezel and call it a day.lol

The Mark V:V25 sounds like a fine option for home use since it has the cabclone and even a headphone out. Of course, you can always use it with a cab. Check this out...
