Hey guys sorry for the shameless plug but I wanted to let you know that Atomic has a new tube power amp that is ready to ship and a new website.

Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any questions.

That looks interesting. How would you say this would work with an all tube preamp, NOT a modeller? Was also wondering where it was made, and what type of Circuit boards were used, such as double sided 2oz copper? I like the Bias feature on the front, and 2 standby switches for each side, that is VERY cool. I am right now looking at tube power amps, and this is on my radar now.

Damn....I wish I would have seen this earlier. It has everything I would want and the price point is very nice as well. I will certainly keep it in mind if I want or need another tube power amp.

Good luck with it!

This amp works great for both modeling and tube preamps. It has been tested favorably against most of the popular tube power amps people discuss here on the board. This, of course, is subjective but I stand behind it. I'll have to make some clips with my MP-1.

A few months back we tested the MB-50 with a Soldano preamp and a Bogner Fish over at Tone Merchants and it really took to them well. Rob's had the new 50/50 for a few weeks now over at the shop so perhaps he'll jump in and lend his thoughts.

The Reactor 50/50 is a very close relative to Atomic's MB-50 (mono block) power amp that has been in production for the last 2 years. We got a lot of requests to do a stereo version in a rack mount format. The rack version has a further built up power supply and a few other enhancements.

The amps are made in China in the same factory that has been doing Atomic's stuff for the past 3 years. I have been personally going over there to oversee production and the QC is top notch. We use use high quality components like JJ 6L6GC tubes, polypropylene caps, etc., so no need to mod or re tube to bring this baby up to snuff - Although with the front panel biasing it is easy to try different tube combinations. We also use special toroid output transformers which not only sound great but really cut back on the weight.

Nice!

Sorry if this was documented and I missed it, but would it be correct to assume I could run one channel with 6L6 and the other with EL34 since it says they are 2 independent power amps?

Great price as well!

I know this is what so many on the Fractal forum have been asking for.

It hasn't been mentioned yet but you are correct, you can set up one channel 6L6 and one channel El84.

Thanks!!! This has certainly come onto my radar now. I am a 6L6 fan as well. Nice to see a new face in the game.

Very cool. Never know when you might need something like it..
Well, not when you just got a Hagen in da hizzy

Yo Tom, nice work... Looks great, and look forward to the clips.

EDIT: Quick question Tom, knowing the marriage of your products with those of Fractal, would you say these power amps are neutral enough to keep the poweramp setting toggled ON with the Axe, or would you, as the manufacturer, recommend that any presets used through the Axe-II or an Ultra be toggled OFF to get the best, most accurate tones?

Amazing a new product, Click on it and it is in the cart. As soon as I get the funding I will pick one up. I miss my rt2/50 so this is just in time for me. Thanks Tom.

Tom!! How the heck are you man?

Awesome job with the New Stomic stuff!! The 50/50 looks like a winner for sure!!

Hope all is well with you and yours!

Thanks, Mark. It was fun to be part of your live lesson experiment yesterday. The technology shows promise.

Hi MO, Thanks for the kind words.

We always recommend that you leave the power amp sim "on". This allows you take control the the kind of power amp effect you want at any volume. Naturally, whey you really crank the Reactor you're going to get some additional natural compression/break up. Most people find this desirable even with the power amp sim "on". There is no law, however, preventing you from turning it "off" and using the amp as a more conventional tube power amp.

The other advantage of keeping the power amp sims "on" is that depending on how you have your amps set up in direct/recording mode, the power amp settings can vary widely based on how much virtual "master" you're using. If you turn off the power amp sim, you may need to adjust your levels on a patch-by-patch basis to get back to unity gain or prevent clipping.

I have had this power amp for the past few weeks and have been running it with the new axe 2 for the demo rig at the shop. This is the best bang for the buck out there as its well made and sounds killer. Its a very neutral sounding power amp, which i like especially when ur using it with modelers.

Thank you Sir King!! :salute:

Good explanation, and very relevant. As you know, I was always trying to grasp the relationship between the Atomic power sections to the Wedges/Cabs, versus more commonly used FRFR systems like the Mackie and so forth. Here's one more question for you - do you have any information as to sensitivity rating charts or the like? What's the volume like on this amp through 2 of your cabs compared to 2 self powered wedges or the like?

I'll definitely do some digging around, but this looks pretty promising; again, nice work and nice to see you here!!

Hey Ralph! We need to pull the trigger on getting together. Everything is great here. Our first, Colton Thomas King, was just born on June 29th so things have been crazy but good. He and his mother are doing great! Talk soon.
