Agree! This whole my dicks bigger than yours crap between gear is irrelevant really. Of course that's probably not the best analogy, because unlike the vs. threads, size matters!

Not sure about size.... but my profiled dick is more realer than your modeled dick.

Well my " real" dick is bigger and realer than any profiled or modeled dick, i.e. I'm back to spankin' my plank through real glass, iron, & paper!

On internet gear forums I would say there's a 50/50 chance that this is the end goal of the forumite.

On one hand I am happy that my Standard doesn't get updates anymore..... but, it is also sad when you feel like the kid that is left out, lol.

they usually add new ones too. And if you don't want to update, you don't have to.

And that actually was an issue for me. If you dial it in and want the new stuff you have to update. Then you have to redial everything else in because it usually effects everything. That can wear after a while...

I could be wrong on this because I have not had any problems with any of my patches the last few updates, since FW 8 I believe there is a setting in the global menu that lets you choose from the last few FW's for the amp modeling. I think this feature was implemented to combat the tone changes that some people hear when updating.

I may be wrong on what that feature does but im pretty sure thats what I read it was for.

I love my Axe Fx Ultra, but I only use it live and started using my amps in the studio again. You can't beat it for live gigs because you get a compact system and if you use a Class D amp like I use, my rack is so light, quick to set up and very consistent.The MFC101 is a great controller also. With my band I would have to bring 4 amps because all the different guitar sounds that I need. The only bad thing about it is that I keep tweaking it because of all the features it has. I never upgraded because the Ultra sounds fine for what I'm using it. If I ever start using my amps for live gigs, the Axe Fx Ultra also works great as a effects unit, it has everything you need as far as time based effects.
