The MIJ's are great. I don't mind the Edwards at $1100 shipped. I'd take them over a Studio any day of the week.

Awesome man, it should be killer! These older LP clones from Japan are wicked guitars, and i'd sooner take an old Greco/Orville By Gibson/Tokai over anything new from Gibson USA.
My Burny LPC is a wicked guitar, i refretted it myself a couple years ago but ran into some issues with it fretting out, so i'm going to have my local tech Barrie Palmer take care of it soon. Can't wait to start using it again as my main guitar. It wipes the floor with the '78 Gibson LPC i used to own.

I have a Gibby LP custom that I really love, gonna compare it to that. I have to say, LP's are my favorite guitars soundwise, period.

I can say with 100% sincerity, brought my Edwards LPC down to my Vegas GC as soon as I got it. Played it back to back with a white Gibson LPC just to see how it stacked up fully expecting to feel a noticeable difference.Jofipe":mdohxls4 said:

FINALLY after allot of complication with the postal service.. the sender had forgot to add my house number in the address field.
Anyway, i'm reeeaally happy with this. I spend something like four hours today with this guitar. Judging from it's yellowing in the nitro clear coat, it looks like a 25 year old guitar. The condition of the guitar is damn near mint, so my guess is it's been a closet queen for years.
Compared to my 08 Gibson LPC it has a thinner and more speedy neck. Also it's rounded out in the heal in a smoother way giving it a better access to the upper frets, just what I needed. I love this neck.
I quickly installed a Bare Knuckle A-Warpig in the bridge, which my white LPC also sports.. I love these pickups in the type of guitar.
Soundwise it has more 5-7Khz bite than the Gibson and a bit less low end.. maybe cause the Gibson is just darker overall. Both of these guitars packs punch to knock out most other type of guitar on the marked. I think I prefer the sound of the Greco a bit more, cause it's a little more open and up front.. very very good for metal & rock. Maybe it's the the fact that the wood is much older than the gibson..
Anyways, at 426€ + postage this guitar is a STEAL. With a new set of Bare Knuckles this vintage guitar can out tone and out look IMO some of the most expensive guitars on the marked.
It weighs about the same as the Gibson, maybe just slightly less.. thinner neck also.
The Gotoh hardware is great, and it stays better in tune than the gibson. Even though it's a MIK, it has great level of details in the construction.
Summery:
A solid and awesome sounding guitar with great playability for a LP. Stock PU's sucks balls. Beauty speaks for itself

I agree with you about these MIJ/MIK Les Paul clones having a little more bite and slightly less low end. My experience has been the same. My Burny LPC is the same way, but like you.. I prefer that too because it sounds more open/up-front and is definitely more suited to hard rock/metal tones!

Haha, yeah.. a vintage modded Marshall + a vintage LPC is about as balls out (in steel panther terms) as it can possibly get! <You don't even have to play it.. just the presence of it means trouble.
I just had a go on it again, against the lot of my gibsons... and the Greco is absolutely the most pissed off of them all. The notes just jump out of the fretboard... really really cool.
