New Blackstar & New Diezel

Im thinking of something new and torn between these two... HT Metal & Lil Fokker in this video you will hear them play the Fokker...

Not into the chorus on the dist channel, so can't really comment other than it sounds a bit "fake". Seen some Blackstar combos that sound great though recently.

IMO Blackstar has no business being mentioned along side Diezel.

Don't get me wrong man, the Blackstar sounds ok but it has a long ways to go before it can keep up with the Diezel. Seems thin is all.

Not as far as price anyway. Tonewise, I'd take a Blackstar.

Just played the blackstar ... Verdict NOT !

This was my experience as well. They look pretty cool, and have a lot of features, but was just not impressed with the tone at all. I've not tried the D Moll or Lil Fokker, but was very impressed with both the Herbert and VH4! YMMV.

Yeah it is funny. I never heard any model Diezel I thought remotely sounded good.

Blackstar was decent but seemed to lack mids. Diezels are Diezels. Killer amps but not for everybody

Low volume it sounded pretty good as soon as I put the screws to it. Very thin n kinda processed sounding. Almost line6 ish.

I have a $100 used Blackstar 5 watt head that sounds decent. But they are no Diezel. Not even close. Cujo what u looking for now???

Those vids sound like shit to me but to each their own.

You're into different kinds of sounds, and from what I remember, you like Trower and similar artists, plus the hard rock from the 70s and 80s? :)

Diezel is geared towards another type of sound, so I can understand that you're not into them. But all is good, there are loads of manufacturers that build great amps with "your" kinda sounds as well. That's the beauty of living now. There are buttloads of choices and price ranges for everyone. I've never been as blown away by an amp (when cost was taken into consideration) as when I fired up my Randall RD50 with the Fortin tweaks. It has nothing to be ashamed of, with the possible exception of the fonts and skull on the front panel :D

I like both the sounds of the 70s and the modern stuff, so between the Laney, Randall and not yet arrived D-moll, I think I have a little for everything :)

Have you played through any Diezels? I would not judge them by what you hear other do with them. They are very versatile amps. I know you're more of a '70s guy, and that type of tone is not really a strength of the Diezels I've played. They are extreme high gain amps.

Reza the gain is it like Hagen ch3 or vh4 ch 3 ?

On the fence dmoll or fokker
