New Cab Day (DV Mark)

Been wanting to try one of the lightweight DV Mark 4x12 cabs for a while. Finally bought one without trying it(damn good price). Pretty killer cab. Being 47 pounds is just absolutely killer AND it sounds really good too. My amp has proven yet again that it is not picky with speakers. Nothing a slight tweak of the knobs won't deal with.


Clips?? of course. Well, at least a very short one. But I recorded it with a couple of different speakers. Bass,mid and treble were all at noon for all three recordings. I would make slight tweaks for each speaker, but I left it all the same for the clips.

Yeah, pretty bad ass cabs. IMO I'd say the speakers are somewhere in between a Celestion G12T-75 and G12K-85. Not quite as bright as the 85 and not as "Muffled"(does that make sense?) as the 75. However, like I said earlier if I bring up the mids and highs just one number on my amp it sounds fairly close to my 85's. The G12K85s and V30s are my favorite speakers. To me, the DV Mark cab gets a little brighter and better once it gets up to LOUD levels. At LOUD levels it just sounds crushing!

Yeah the speakers do not have as much mids as v30s but not as scooped as T75s ...somewhere in the middle probably. Its a very clear sounding cab also.

I looked at the DV Mark website and they have some new cabs called NeoClassics. The 4x12 looks front loaded and comes with different neo speakers than the standard. Not sure if it's closer to a Greenback or V30. I'll try to get a clip of a standard tuned guitar with this cab. Really sounds good.
