Thx man! How does it compare to some of the other cabs that I see you own? I am curious about vs the Mesa !I stuck V30s in an older VHT FB cab and it slayed. It look like I hooked it to my bumper and dragged it to the gig, but it sounded great!
I love straight cabs! Thx manIt was a bit more throaty? I guess being front loaded. I really liked it. The traditional size box with V30s is the way to go IMO. I use the Rivera and the Mesa Traditional cabs live now. Mine was a slant though, and I have a straight cab bias.
Yeah, I believe Friedman has been using the same combo for years It's a killer combo. The V30's in the lower half and the Greenies in the upper half of a 4x12 is how they run these. It's a great mix, the greenies are warmer with a woody quality and the V30's bring a great dimension and frequency spread as well as the mids to push through the mixI've always found that V30s overpower greenbacks when mixed but maybe they found a magic combination. Big fan of VHT cabs though

Are they 4x12s? Maybe it’s just because I’ve only done it in a 2x12Really? I've mixed them in three cabs and always hear the GB's just fine.
Yes, 4x12'sAre they 4x12s? Maybe it’s just because I’ve only done it in a 2x12
Probably it then.Yes, 4x12's
Never tried a 2x12
Thx man, maybe I should pull the trigger then!I had one of these 2530 VHTs. One of the best cab I ever had and heard. Mine has Marshall V30 on the bottom and UK Greenback on top. What is special about this cab is inner bracing which divide cab in half horizontally, basically two 2x12 mounted together.
Friedman cabs are different or better say classic construction so no ‘suprises’ ?
Thx man! Gas is a bitch and ur post hit the final nail in the coffin haha I just bought it!These are pre ‘95 so speakers will be very well broken. I had newer 2525 cab but it wasn’t as good as 2530. But still better for metal than usual ‘trendy’ cabs like Orange or Mesa.
I think if the GB and V30’s are mixed in an X pattern, the DB difference is very noticeable. I ran a Greenback cab and a V30 cab back in the day with the same 100 watt head and the V30 cab was noticeably louder than the Greenback cab. However, I’ve got a mix of GB (top) V30 (bottom) in my Bogner 4x12 that sounds killer. I think the DB difference isn’t as noticeable. I don’t know why, really, but I suspect it’s because the louder speakers are closer to the floor/farther from your ears than the softer GBs which are closer to your ears. That’s my theory anyway.Really? I've mixed them in three cabs and always hear the GB's just fine.
That makes sense to be honest.I think if the GB and V30’s are mixed in an X pattern, the DB difference is very noticeable. Well, to each their ownMixing speakers sucks..
You want different colors top to bottom? Buy a Slant Cab with the same speakers.. ?
