Yeah. My favorite of Mark's mods. I wish it didn't need that linear taper MV on it though. for some reason, it doesn't work with an audio taper pot. The amp goes from off to audio numb from 0-1....

I must be out of the loop. What's the history here? What happened with Cameron?

Got a spare four days?

Explain it like I'm 5.

Mark takes deposits or payment in full for 14 CCV's and doesn't deliver.

Brad, Rob, and Dave, buy the rights to Cameron amps, and say they'll get the 14 missing amps out to those who paid.

Brad, Rob and Dave, take deposits on (and deliver) the first 25 amps.

Somewhere between A and B, Mark, Brad, Rob, and Dave, part ways.

Assembly of the second run is to be done by Metro, as the first run had some QC issues.

The Atomica and Old Bitch are released.

Two amps of the fourteen supposedly delivered, although no one will say to whom.

Brad, Rob and Dave, decide to redesign the CCV, take deposits for the next run, and can't quite make it happen.

People with deposits on the second run of CCV's were either refunded, or offered credit toward other product (as I understand).

Much, much, drama in between all points.

There ya have it.... :D

Thanks! What was(were) the explanation(s) given for them not being able to either A) Deliver or B) issue refunds?

No 2nd run CCV was built for one!! There were issues with getting refunds on partial and full deposits. Some had to go through their CC companies to get a refund.
It was making noise about a year ago if I recall correctly
Apparently the dream team couldn't build these without mark, tried to redesign the board and had an epic fail.

Daves epic and a master at old Marshalls and a good businessman, honors his word and is fine by me.

I would never send money to Cameron or his handler.

Anyone who needs someone else to babysit his money isn't a normal adult I want to deal with.

I'll stack up my Friedman KS against ANY Cameron product ...

And im not a pussy. I don't cry, whine, bitch or throw tantrums, but if you flame me you'll get it back in spades or get spammed, my choice.

To some he is a master and to some he is not. To each their own!! I do not care either way, but he and the rest of the Dream Team did not get the job done for the CCV and that effected some people. They were not honest with the people who invested their money in the 2nd run. Simple as that. So it looks like Mark will be filling the void for the demand of the CCV!!

That's weird. The old MiG Ocean mod I had was really easy to control from a volume standpoint.

Maybe someone had been in the amp after Mark, being I bought it from someone else. Sounds about right....

Awesome. Will he have his own forum on here and be a moderator again?

When's the madoff mod coming? :scared:

I wouldn't put money anywhere unless I was handing someone the cash and they were handing me the amp.

This exact scenario has happened every year or so for the past 5 years. New amps appear to a select few, someone reputable gets behind it for the big push, and then money disappears. Something entirely bizarre about having so many people who claim to be able to fix a problem not be able to fix a problem.

Again, I hope this all gets cleared up because cameron's amps truly sound like no other :worship: , but caveat emptor.

If that happens, we can start a pool to see how long it takes him to tell someone to fuck off.

Fuck yeah it did with no diodes engaged. It was the biggest Cameron tone I ever heard. Bigger than the CCV

I don't care how good his amps sound, the guy is a proven crook. You must be insane to give that guy any money
Mark will not be handling any of the money end. Only overseeing the building of amps and designs. A trustworthy, 100% standup guy will be handling the money end of the business. In my experience, and many others, he can be trusted with 3K Gift pay and one need not worry one bit. I have seen it first hand numerous times.

No gift pays please, I would not expect anyone to do that.

Anyways I can"t speak on the legal end of things, I think that's between Mark, Rob and Brad. I hope it all comes to a amicable agreement in the end and everyone can move on.

ive reached out to EXPcustom (jason) many times and each time he has stated he would have his attorney draw something up. As of this date, I have received no offer. Jason, you are the managing partner in this cameron endeavor your trying to do with Mark, correct?

Hi Rob,

I assumed you got our response but since I did not receive a response I assumed you did not care much for our offer but I cant seem to find it in the outbox.

Pretty much what we were proposing is, and dont take this post as a legally binding contract but here is the gist of it:

Mark and I will assume liability in repaying the 14 owed CCVs since that was never resolved as per the original agreement.

Mark and I will assume any warranty work on the CCVs that were made by Barrang and by the way we have repaired and restored a few at no charge.

Mark will waive his rights to commisions/royalties to the Atomica, Old Bitch and CCV mkII but they are to be made under a name of your choosing other than "Cameron Amps" you guys can make them under Friedman or King Amps or whatever you want. They are great amps and there is demand for them. Mark has no problem with you guys using his designs and moving forward with these brands in exchange for allowing us to move forward.

We do intend to pay back the people owed amps and will do it under a different brand name if we have to but I hope we all can come to agreement so Mark can continue using the Cameron name.

Thanks,
Jason

It was stated before that the Cameron name had become more of a burden than an advantage

If that's true, I don't know why they wouldn't cede you all rights to the name for free

I thought our offer was more than reasonable, they keep the Old Bitch, Atomica and whatever redesign of the MkII CCV (We continue putting out pre-Barrang Rev1 version). People love the Atomica and Old Bitch plus they can put whatever name they want and no licensing fee ever.

It would be interesting to get the whole story without drama or bias from either side. I thought Mark signed away the right to use his name on an amp?
Perhaps we will find out some day.

I'm not a lawyer and obviously don't know the specifics of the agreement but based on what I have read, I don't think Mark Cameron has a leg to stand on in terms of having a right to the company name. Secondly, trying to hash out an agreement on a public guitar forum is a really bad idea and demonstrates a lack of basic understanding of how a negotiation should be handled.
