Mark has some real issues and cannot function on his own.This was known and you sent cash anyway. What did you expect? There are about 8 or 9 mods that were lost/. The 14 CCV's happened through Jerry. You guys sent your cash to Jerry who gave it to Mark. Jerry seems to have been exonerated and I get that. Mark was not just ripping guys off purposely. He obviously is recognized or why do we have these threads? Why do people try to help him? There's a reason. If you have played his amps and know him somewhat you would get it. If you allowed yourself to get caught up and lost something you knew that risk going in. All of you. Rob and Brad included.

I wouldn't be so quick to throw Jerry's name into this, buddy. He couldn't do the work to Mark's standard, but he wasn't actually making money, just trying to learn.

Mark relying on Jerry to handle an increase in production was a mistake, and that certainly didn't help matters, but Jerry never kept any of that dough.

This man crush you have on Mark is really weirding me out. Mark is a very talented modder not designer and he has his own sound that I appreciate and love as much as anybody. You know of no one else because you dont no any one in the industry.

John Suhr, Stevie Fryete, Peter Diesel, Reinhold Bogner, Mike Soldano, Bruce Egnater, Allan Phillips. Those guys have serious engineering chops and are world class designers. We might not always like their tones, but Mark doesnt have close to the engineering chops that these guys have. How do I know this I actually know everyone of those guys personally and I witnessed Mark's painting first hand almost every day for 6 months. Or at least I saw his painting skills on the days we could find him and he didnt disappear for a week. I wonder how much money was wasted by amps that were returned because Mark didnt test the amp properly and didnt even put the FX board in correctly to make sure it work.

Ive spoken to you on the phone many times and your a very nice guy. But i hate to say this, you have no idea what your talking about when it comes to Mark Cameron.


There were at least 8 to 10 mods that were missing when I started working with Mark and at LEAST another 8 to 10 guys that called Tone Merchants asking for help in getting their amps that were completely un related to the guys Mark told Brad and I about. That was really Brad's and I breaking point, we couldnt take those type of calls anymore. So just because Mark tells you 8 to 9, doesnt make it true.

Have to side with the Cameron is a crook camp on this one.. he still owes 40+k?? Unbelievable that he just gets to walk out on that obligation because people want his amps like crack whores need well...crack. Maybe he has sorted out the business end of things by now building first before he sells but anyone who looks at his track record knows it won't be long before they are on "back order" (not even put together) after paying full price for the amp. The ego of this guy to know he owes 40k worth of services and amps and for him to think "f-ck it, I'm that good, everyone else will still pay it". He's actually rubbing it in everyone's face. I'd never trust this guy or his ability to come through on anything and I don't need to know him to know what type of person he is. I think the words "scam artist" have already been used to describe him and i think that is probably being kind.

PS- How about another angle to all this.. I thought I read somewhere that he had drug problems as well.. was there any truth to that? That might explain the take the money and run attitude as well. ..

He owes 40k in amps, 10k to Brad and company if I remember it right, and who knows what to others. Anyone that thinks he will get it together and make things right is a fool. People like that do not change. I owned a CCV and plan to buy another one someday but I would never buy it from him. If you are not in driving distance yo where he lives, tracking him down is almost not worth it, and I am sure he knows that.

The only complaint I have with Brad, Dave, and Rob is their inability to give accurate times for delivery of goods and services. If they can figure that out, there would be no complaints thrown at them. I owned 2 Friedman mods, a Pink Taco, a BE-100, an Atomica, and a CCV. Most were purchased used. Dave and Brad warrantied the CCV when something blew out and paid shipping one way. They did not have to do that. They are decent guys and I'd buy from either again without hesitation.

The lesson learned is to never prepay for an amp if you cannot afford to lose all of that money. A deposit is fine, but pat via credit card and make sure the delivery date is on the receipt.

If Cameron's ever to pay folks back, he needs income to do it. Cutting him out of all royalties/payments for the amps completely disincentivizes him to do any more work. That's a bad idea.

Someone else needs to handle the money, diverting a portion to Cameron to keep him working and maybe another portion to a "trust" naming as beneficiaries all the folks that got screwed over. At some point, the trust will pay out to the beneficiaries and this will be done.

Only real trouble is that given the amount of money that's being thrown around (he owes over $40k?!?!?!?), I don't think this will ever work. I don't see how they could sell that many amps. A small niche market to begin with, and now with his name ruined, it'd be hard to make that happen.

Catch 22, isn't it? He needs the work to repay the debts, but there is a good chance that it will not work out for several reasons (old business habits, the small market etc.) and be left with an additional debt.
