Wouldn't it be nice to get updates on the new Legacy???

It would be so cool to take us along in the design process. Kinda like Marshal did for Slash, but cooler. The Slash AFD 100 had a dedicated website a year in advance taking fans through the design process.

Anyhow, just thoughts. We may have to wait to NAMM before we know anything......

There's a new legacy coming out? I wish they would just do a reissue of the first one

+1. It's what Vai continues to use for the most part anyways.

Some people love that amp and others don't. I love them and own 2. I almost bought another one the other day but changed my mind. I am not sure why some people don't like them because they sound great in all iterations. I prefer the VL100. Other than an occasional Peavey 5150, I can't think of another 100W tube head you can buy for under $500 used that is better.

I really liked the Legacy...probably shouldn't have sold mine. It had the best cleans outta any amp I've played, and the gain channel with a boost was pretty good hair metal type tones. Didn't really do metal metal, but was a fun amp to solo with as well. Really need a front loaded cab with it...cuz it is too dark with a rear loaded...loved it with the fat bottom VHT and JJ 6L6's instead of EL34's:

Most of the Youtube demos I heard had it sounding too midrange, and I heard that it had to be cranked to sound good, so I passed it up.

I had the VL100 and the III. Both great. Excellent pedal platforms.

Seems there´s a Toneking clip on Youtube from Winter NAMM, where Carvin says to expect a new Vai amp next winter NAMM. That´s about it as far as I can see.

I haven't heard about another Legacy yet....odd that they'd keep pumping out different versions when Vai's still using the originals.

I said it in a recent Legacy thread, but I miss the shit out of mine.

Opened a drawer this weekend and found this disc with a video on it that was filmed 15 or 16 years ago when I had my Legacy rig. This was back when I was in high school, a junior or a senior. There's no mic on the cab here, so all the guitar you hear is coming off the stage.....and this video camera was 3/4's the way up a high school gym, I still can't believe you can hear it.

I'm not going to make excuses for my playing, I was a kid and just goin' for it.

Oh yeah, that drummer is my best friend Jay, dude ended up going to Berklee after this and spending 2 years side by side with Mike Mangini.....now lives in Nashville as a studio drummer, doing a bunch of country/bluegrass stuff, often using a suitcase for a kick drum, hi hat and a snare and that's it!

I just tried a Legacy for the first time recently. I didn't like it at all.

When I first got mine I wasn't impressed at all. I loved the clean channel immediately but the 2nd channel wasn't what I was expecting at all....it took me a little while to figure out how to get what I wanted out of it. I had to run it really hot to get it to saturate the way I was thinking it would.

Thought he started with a Carvin X100b, then a modded Marshall, then the Bogner ;)

I clearly don't know the order   .....but

Funny I was searching for something and came across a pic of his gear with the Bogner sitting on a rack or something. I never heard of it before. My favorite amp of all time since I bought an '08 20th xtc 6l6.
