New Charvels... $1299 Jake?

The Henrik's been out a year or so already? Am I missing something? (And hideous, I might add).
They're "re-issuing" them. ;)

Maybe you won't understand what the dfuss is all about until you've played a couple. They're pretty awesome guitars from a fit/feel/playability standpoint. Mine is certainly a favorite to play. Don't really care what it looks like TBH.

Neat but I prefer to roll my own. It was a lot cheaper too.

I think the Jake is cool, but what is it really? Just the two backward slanted singles in pickguard for the most part. Should have been short scale, and if they really wanted to go "Jake" on it.. had the two different fret wire sizes on the neck. They are saving money on the bridge, and could have put that money back in and made it more like the original. JMHO. Maybe that wouldn't appeal to the masses though, and they gotta sell guitars so...
Jakes original White “Charvel” was actual a 70s Fender. So it has fender scale.

The first version they did of Jakes white Charvel (originally a sunburst Strat) was way out of my price range. This is a bit more realistic here even though it’s probably still a bit overpriced . The 21 frets like the original will probably keep me from buying it , probably ?

Jake's friend had it Charvelized by Charvel as a birthday present for Jake. The neck was shaved down and everything including new paint over the original Fender sunburst finish.

You're probably right.. I was thinking of the ESP version they made way back in the day. Buddy of mine had one, so the short scale stuck in my head.

That’s a beauty. I’ll be putting in an order my cost saving friend ?
I think with everything it was around $950, give or take. Body and neck from the Warmoth showcase, plus a Warmoth pickguard, Gotoh trem and locking tuners, Jalen Origin pickup, Dunlop strap locks, Bourns pot, Sanwa button and some black screws/hardware. A few coats of tung oil on the neck over a few days, the rest was assembled in an hour or two and it's a megabeast.

I converted my MIM SD-1 HT into a sort of Jake. Added a pick guard and it's close enough for me... don't care to upgrade the bridge saddles or tuners to get closer (plus, the input jack isn't on the top like the real Jake). I figured with the Pro-Mod they would just use a 22 fret neck. Kinda crazy they did 21 on the Pro-Mod. I figured they wouldn't do the headstock, either, which isn't too bad... I like the look of mine.

If these even surface, you probably wont be able to find one
Yeah they are the guitars that will all get snatched up pre-order and then re-sold to collector fans for 2x the price.

It's crazy to me that almost no hardtail strats are ever offered in anything but incredibly niche guitars.

Hardtail strats are so much better than trems in my experience. Sure, with trems you can rock the bar every now and then, but hardtail strats just sound so much better. More sustain, better tuning stability, bigger and bolder tone, etc.

The Jake is missing a painted headstock. Moving in the right direction price-wise, but (n)

I agree.
