New combo pedal idea ....

so there's a verified schematic out there for the new Marshall JCM800 pedal .... usually I'm not a fan of the PAL800 and Boogie type pedals ..... they are all FET based and sound thin and brittle to me .

this new 800 uses a couple of op amps that I've never used before and sounds pretty dam good for an " amp " pedal ... so right away I thought .... wonder what a SD-1 would sound in front of it ...

and boom .... found a guy doing just that ...... starts at the 6:00 minute mark ... sounds pretty good to me

so if I combo these up ..... I can do separate in and outs like the TOK .... so you could run each pedal separate .... run additional stuff inbetween the two ... or just let the SD-1 run into the 800

I'm not much for drive pedal combos as I usually use amp gain and add flavor with an OD. But if you ever ponder the idea of of a delay with tap and a chorus pedal combo....

Or a tremolo/reverb pedal (with a spring setting) for some ethereal or swampy goodness.
Hate to say it but that video left me cold on the pedal so a combo of the 800 and SD-1 in pedal format doesn’t excite. If you do it, I would try and improve the 800 side of it. Too woofy and had a lot of artifacts around the sound (hard to describe).
That guy seemed cool…like Scott Ian at Renaissance Fair.

Reverbs in pedals are usually 100 % digital .... not my thing

I rewatched the video a few times .... yeah ... it sounds like shit ... I've already shelved the idea ...
