Good stuff. The Axe FX seems to have really opened up Carpenters sound. Lots of textures, various tones, layers. Some softer ambient stuff too along with their usual bang your head riffs. The 8 string also doesn't dominate the sound too much. Seems to only really come out here and there. He's blending it in very well. I like Diamond Eyes better so far, but that album was pretty epic for them. Nice to see them continuing to expand without completely changing their sound.

i love the new cd. I was lucky enough that they basically wrote and rehearsed the new material for a few months next door to the shop. Its great to hear how they progressed during the rehearsals and now hear the finished songs.

Awesome CD!! Tuesday was good release day with this and the new Soundgarden.

ANYWAY... Diamond Eyes blew my socks off when that came out a couple years ago. Seriously knocked me out. So I'm hoping this new one's going to have a similar effect. I know with Diamond, seemed every 2 to 3 weeks, I'd have enough "favorite" song off the CD, until I basically cycled through the whole thing having each song be my "favorite" at some time or another. That's a real CD!! That's the sorta buzz I used to get with old school LPs man, back in the day!! When it was about a 'hit' but more, the whole package...

Ya, Deftones are a killer group with great steez.

Diamond eyes is hard to beat, so i look forward to spme serious listening

I thought the tones on the album were crap. I could tell right away that they were a modeller.

Goddamn straight! It's a really amazing CD. I too cycled through all the songs as being favorites and that does say something. All the greatest albums in my collection have done that to me and man, its been awhile honestly. You stole my thoughts. :D

Awesome stuff, Braddah!! Funny too, as I just re-read this post I did this morning WELL before I had my coffee, and obviously I wasn't "stealing your thoughts" with too much clarity and articulation. Brains working now, so thanks for getting through the verbose errors

Bottom line, the best albums are those that are filled front to back with "that was my fave song" from start to finish. Not just a one-hit-wonder CD.

Deftones deliver.

Album sounds good. Signature Deftones. Nick Raskulinecz produced. Really liking all the layers

Definitely! I'm loving both the Deftones and Soundgardwns new CDs

Great release and they stayed true to their roots. Recording quality and sound is amazing.

Best album since White Pony for me. They'll never top ATF though.
