ok guys i gotta know something.

Am i the only one that finds the whole PAPA thing annoying and pretty much like ass kissing?

seems like i see it alot now, im not trying to insult anybody but i just gotta know because i see it alot now and its not just 1 or 2 guys either. i liked it better when people would just call him peter like a normal person.

I'm with you. But oh well, that's how nicknames start I guess.

I call him Papa Diezel because thats what he asks to be called. Its a German thing my friend go with it. :D

Brad

I see Peter as a super kind and just an all around great person. If he likes to be called Papa Diezel then he surely deserves that recognition. After all he is the Father of Diezel hence Papa Diezel. It's more about a statement of fact as opposed to ass kissing.

Peter is a good guy and i think he makes great amps, to me it seems like the whole papa thing started here at rig talk, i talked to him on hcaf before rigtalk existed and never did i see anybody call him papa, i owned diezels 5 yrs ago and he was always very nice when i needed help on hcaf and i like him and think hes a great builder but i knew him as peter diezel back then and thats the way i know of him now. I dont even remember him being called papa in the early days of rigtalk either.

I guess im the asshole on the board because i dont wanna call him papa, just seems wierd to me.

I can`t NOT call him Poppa... For chrissakes, the guy sent me parts, tubes, updates, everything without me ever asking for a damn thing (NOTE: YMMV!!). As soon as I bought into the `Diezel Family`, I instantly had this rapport with both Peters, and the email support started, and then BOOM... Next thing I know he`s since sent me and my family holiday wishes, sent my wife and I congrats on our 2nd daughter, and the list goes on... It goes well beyond being the amp manufacturer - he`s Poppa.

Just me.

V.

PS - and, maybe on a personal note, my parents being German and Austrian, and my dad since having left this realm, me speaking German (a bit), there`s some definite camaraderie there, no doubt.

I think Don would like to have a good rapport with both Peters also.

Hagen sounds awesome, played it today.
Wonderful amp, right between the VH4 and Herbert voicingwise.
Less compression than a VH4, less huge bottom end than Herbert (still a Diezel).
Clean channel can be either sparkling, responsive or even (mild) crunchy.
Channel 2 covers loads of grounds, pretty much as in all Diezels - incl. those typical Einstein Mode 2 Texas or VH4 (full gain) hotrod stuff.
Channel 3 is Diezels trademark sound Nuff said.
Channel 4 either singing/creamy high gain lead or with a different eq setting for the evil stuff.

Its looks are awesome, the pots can be much easier adjusted as one would think from the photos.

Yes, I've made clips from Artur, Peter Stapfer and Doug from Blackmachine. But it is so much material that it may take until sunday before I can post something, sorry . . .

oh my!!!!! :D thanks Olaf! Did you snag that Hagen for me?

Olaf just got me excited, this amp seems right up my alley.

It doesn't take much to be less compressed than a VH4. Is it still a compressed sounding amp like other diezels, or is it more open?

Well, when I will post the heavy clips you will say it is the same type, although Stapfer grabbed a Tele and you will notice that is less than what you would expect from one of Peter's creations.

Damn, sounds like the Diezel sound perfected based on your description. Can't wait for those clips!
