I got the Engl Powerball II from a member on this forum, I bought the Maxon od808 new
I've had them both for about a week, but I didn't get much playing time or I should say I didn't get a chance to play with serious volume until today.
I've owned the earlier version of this amp and I don't remember it being as loud or clear sounding as this amp is wow.
The powerball II has a much stronger mid voicing/or mids than it's predecessor.
Channel 1 is your typical clean very good,
Channel 2 is the crunch and has been improved upon, it has a wide range of gain especially when I hit it with the od pedal,
Channel 3&4 have a wider sweep or a more usable range on the gain knob than the previous version, Channel 3 is a little tighter and drier to my ear than channel 4
The Maxon od808 is a nice addition and works very well with the Engl
