...I saw them open for Skid Row (or, rather Scotti Hill, Rachel Bolan and three other guys)...

Surely, Snake Sabo is still with them right? I'm pretty sure he writes most stuff. It should be the same guys with a different singer and drummer???

At this show, or perhaps several on that particular tour, a guitarist who plays with Alice Cooper filled in for him for some reason or another. It was funny, as this guy was dressed up in an Alice Cooper-style outfit while the rest of them were not.

EDIT: the guy's name is Keri Kelly.

haha...he's played with just about everyone

Yeah, I just went to his website and that's the dude I saw with Slash's Snakepit and Vince Neil both at one point or another.

he's also played with Warrant and possibly Ratt too...or one other. The dude was weird...my other band opened for Warrant one time when he was with them and he had this little pink girl's bike that he just rode around.

I dig the verse and the solo was a little out there. THe chorus was killing it for me. Whats up with Cherone's choice in lyrics?

+1

He stinks- that's what. Nuno's a nice guitar player, but it's just not enough for me to enjoy Extreme to any degree. This new tune is more of the same- above average guitar playing with ear-catching tones surrounded by a horrible band and a horrible song. Go away Extreme- no one was clammoring for you to come back.

The chorus sounds like a bad car dealership radio jingle.

If that is as good as they can do, they should pack it up, because that was terrible.

Hopefully the rest is a little better. It seems like they're falling into the same thing that alot of decent bands end up doing...they try too hard to be different than what made them successful in the first place. Extreme has written some very good melodies in the past but they're not even close to that.

I like the guitar when the whole band comes in. The vocals were to loud as someone else said, and the chorus was HORRIBLE>

My opinion? This song is freaking horrible. I think most of their songs are horrible to be honest with you. Just not a fan at all.

I think Cherone can sing well (although his lyric riding is embarassing) and of course Nuno is great. But as a general rule, I can't stand them as a band.

Really?

No "Mutha" or "Decadence Dance" ???

The verse riff and the solo were the only things I liked. That chorus is extremely grating to me. Cherone needs some efx on his voice too. It is too out front and dry... sounds bad to me...

Steve

The chorus is the best part. The rest of it is tired blues riffing. Solo didn't hit me.

never been a cherone fan....and only really liked nuno during graphitti.

he's such a great rock gtr player and his timing is scary. i'd be great to hear him with higher caliber players around him.

Nuno's really busy, almost "too busy", but the vocals are over the top. Too much for me. Cherone is a little too clinical and corny. Like the riffing, but hate the overwhelming presence of the vocals. Now this other band...king's X?

I've always enjoyed Nuno's work, but their lyrics have sucked since day 1.

For example:

Kid Ego
Stop the World
Rest in Peacce
Little Jack Horny
...just to name a few

the lyrics in every one of these songs are horrible IMO :aww:

Sounds like Extreme to me, for better or worse

I liked the guitar work, good stuff.

shot from my cell phone during the NAMM reunion show--note the eggie inspired nuno/randall stacks

and hopefully you can see/hear this low res 3gp quicktime movie video snippet from my phone:

old friends

yeah it's a cheezy song, but there was a certain sentimentality hearing it for the first time in so long that made it a cool moment.
