Uses one 833C tube to get 100W single ended power.

The amp is huge, 6 independent channels.

That is quite the amp.

100w class A means that thing will heat your whole house.

Nice the vid mrkmas.  I thought it was the flux-capacitor in there.

Quick glance that tube should be around $120-160 bucks but my search was limited and short.

The low end on that amp is insane and running class A should bring the electric bill up a tad.

Transmitter tubes in guitar amps was an idea i had about 3 years ago with the tube in my avatar - GU81. The power efficiency on them is absolute junk but the lifespan is measured in years, not months. Average lifespan of a GU81 is 20 years at 80% capacity. I would also estimate the B+ to be around 800-1kV or so. The GU81 amp i began to design required on average 1.2kV at 20mA.

Interesting to know how they handle shock and transporting - thats where i ran into a snag. Also the chassis has to be very large to have physical distance of some parts of the amp due to arc-over. The 6550's on the right are used as drivers to drive the tube which is most likely a gigantic dual-envelop triode.

I messed in this ballgame for the longest time. I dropped out when i was having to design a transformer that could handle the job on a regular house 15A breaker.

Holy mother of amp sizes Batman! I wonder what the price on that thing is though. I bet it is $5k+...

I would love to see an in-depth video of it!

Nice but... 6 channels, 5 FX loops, and no midi support ?

Right, why no midi...I just don't get why at this point everyone isn't integrating midi functionality into ALL amps.

This is a big reason I started with Diezel, oh so long ago. Peter integrates midi capability and it is a huge plus in my book.

I do understands that this amp includes its own footswitch, so that's cool. But what about controlling other units? Midi capability just makes it all easier.

Rant over...

weight:
33,5 kg

We're in Ampeg SVT territory, my friends. Truly gnarly...

I bet that bad boy throws of some heat. One power tube failure and you are screwed....

Very cool design. But how it sounds and feels is the big question. The one hand rule does not apply. This amp would instantly kill you if you slip while biasing and could easily burn your house down if something failed. I'll get my 100 watts elsewhere. Not for me but cool indeed.

is there any pricing info available on these ?

They will be very expensive. Like 1.5-2x SLO price

At the moment there are just two prototypes in existence.

I agree that the head must have Midi. Or otherwise hello to tap dancing on the 13 button footswitch ;)

The eq section sounds very flexible, almost graphic/parametric like when he was twisting the knobs.

hmmm.. I hear flub in the bottom end of the clip, and fizz in the top for a high gain setting... instant dealbreaker for me
