Giles USA...based in Massachusetts

Was able to pick up their G1 model yesterday to play around with and to use at an upcoming casino gig to help them promo it. I can say that it's very well made and is handmade from what I understand. The body is a sort of polycarbonite...not wood but it has a really nice tone to it through my rig. This is their base model so the pickups are from GFS. They have a larger size body as well. What's really cool is that they make their own knobs and have begun making their own bridges now too. I'll be giving them my feedback on the guitar in performance but playing around with it at home, it's a very easy guitar to play and is super lightweight.

I'll be at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, RI on saturday, May 4th if anyone wants to check it out and is in the area.

Solid polymere core body...not sure I've seen anything like it out there.

Interesting design. With such a long string length, do the strings bend fairly easily?

Strangely enough, it plays and bends fine. But, I found out today that this guitar was his first build...it's 7 years old! It is his shop/demo model so lots of hands have been on this...and it still feels and looks new. He said the poly body will not age badly...I thought it was brand new!

His newer design are using a string through bridge...can't wait to try one of those out.

Played my first gig with the Giles this past weekend...it passed with flying colors! Here's a pic of me and Roland Giles, the builder of the guitars...
