I like the feel and tone of rosewood on a Les Paul better, so I bet this rocks.

Richlite, hate it.

Me too...Funny thing is, this is actually a real rosewood board....CONFIRMED by seller.

That's almost worse, rosewood on a custom?!

Terrible...I guess I will have to send it back. Thanks.

Yes, send it to me, I will inspect it. :D

Are you sure you will have time? ....Last time I checked you were very busy learning King 810 covers.

Nice! I always liked the chrome hardware on a black LP custom. In fact, I have a 95 custom that I swapped all of the gold hardware off with the chrome. I'm not big on the burstbuckers as well. I had them in a Les Paul Axcess, but found them to be a little bit lackluster, at least for what I do. My customs currently have duncan distortions in them, but I've also had Suhr Aldrich pickups in them as well with great results.

Thanks! Duncan or Aldrich...Witch do you prefer in the LPs, and why?

I preferred the Aldrich when I was playing through Marshalls. They really sang, but I had since gone over to the Boogie camp and preferred the sound of the Duncans for what my band was doing at the time.

Thanks...Correct to say that the Duncan Distortion is a more aggressive and grittier sounding pick-up (compared to the Aldrich)?

I actually found the Aldrich to be more raw sounding than the Duncan Distortion. With the Duncan, I was going for a more compressed, rounded tone and it worked better than a JB in that case.

...So the Duncan Distortion sounded a bit thicker and "even" by comparison to the JB? ....Thanks.

Guitar received...Will report back. Thanks for all the feedback!

Much prefer chrome to gold hardware, not sure on the rosewood lookswise on an lpc but I could see liking the tone of it just fine.

That's wierd, why doesn't it have an Ebony Board. If you're 50/50 on it I wouldn't keep it. I think the rosewood board only hurts it value.

Do you like the way it plays? Sounds? At the end of the day that's all that matters. My LP Classic turns 20 today. Beat all to hell, frets starting to wear, but it still rocks after all these years and I would not trade or sell it. On the other hand, I bought it to play. It was not an investment.

So, if you are a player and like it, play the shit out of it. Invest in mutual funds and retire young and rich.

Humm,, My guess is that he has been playing it ever since and likes the pickups.

I hated the burstbuckers in the midtown as well but liked them a lot in my old r0. Give me a fair chance!

Looks like my Custom from 2001. Of course it came with gold hardware, which I had to swap out. Oh, and Ebony :D

OK...Good news: I dig the guitar! I guess the 2013 "special order" models turned out pretty good as some the LP experts here at the board have suggested. Nice weight, clocking in at just north of 10 lbs, very comfortable "in-between" neck profile. In regards to the rosewood fretboard, I love the look and feel of ebony....But this board looks, plays and sounds great. The guitar seems to resonate very well and has a really THICK, low mid thumping sound to it. I got the guitar for under $2500 shipped and it's literally brand new, so I'm very happy with the purchase so far. Bad new: I think the Burst Buckers are probably going to have to go away. I'm going to give them a few more weeks, but overall they still strike me as a bit weird in the mids...Kind of "honky", with that wah half cocked kinda thing happening. I see a JB, Duncan Distortion, Aldrich...Or Detroiter in my future and will probably stick with the BB in the neck. All thoughts appreciated guys, and thanks for the interest and feedback.

Congratulations, nice one but prefer ebony on my customs.

as far as the pickups go I put a Duncan Custom in the bridge of my 57 RI BB7 and I it sounds killer.

btw...I got this one under $2500 shipped, its a 2008 Historic that was missing the COA

Great looking guitar. Enjoy it. I've gotten used to seeing the NYC skyline without the Twin Towers. I can get used to a Les Paul Custom without an Ebony board.
