I wasn't very happy with my Agile 7 (I sent it back) so I had this sweet Carvin DC727 custom made for me. Carvin f'n nailed it!

I bought a Carvin DC727. It's a beautiful tobacco burst with the killer Carvin electronics, top quality ebony finger board, killer FR, and locking tuners (I hate locking a nut).

The Top is actually a Special Maple Quilt with a flame character to it
Jumbo 24 stainless steal frets
Sperzel locking tuners
Mahogany Body
Mother of Pearl Block inlays
5 piece walnut/maple neck
Matching headstock
Natural back of Neck

Carvin seems to make such nice stuff. I could see curiousity getting the better of me and ordering one.

Like I said, Carvin nailed it. This babe looks even better in person. $1,500 out the door purely custom - with SKB hardshell case. :rawk: I was going to pull the trigger on a JP 7, but there's no way in hell they are worth $2,589. I played two at least a dozen times at my local GC. They are nice but this Carvin DC727

I'm stringing it up in standard 7 string tuning. .010, .013, .017, .026, .036, .046, .060 and it slays. Mean tone from these passive direct-mount Classic Series C26 pickups.

Why is your custom order hanging in a music shop? :D

Congrats!

For the money, they are REALLY hard to beat. The only thing I would ever change on mine would be the neck width. Unfortunately, they don't do 1 5/8. With that aside, great guitars!

To the OP: Nice Score!

A little head stockadge... :D

Carvin's are great guitars. They don't get much love around here it seems. Maybe if they cost 3 times as much they would.

Very cool looking guitar. Carvin's are much more popular in So-Cal from what my buddy tells me, probably cause you can try them out there easily.

So the active electronics and pickups on that Carvin are good? In my limited Carvin experience, I have found their pickups to be the weakness.
